In short: Not as quick for me as promised, but the clock doesn't lie...
In full: Turned up feeling like I ought to run quick, but felt ropey all the way to mile 5. Hillier than I'd been led to believe, but a good blast after the excesses of the festive season. Check out the alternative toilets though...

In short: Well organised, friendly race that doesn't take itself too seriously!
In full: At this time of year you have to accept there's going to be a lot of people out for the crack - and that's what you get with this race. Friendly, slightly chaotic at the start, but a lovely challenging course in glorious surroundings - shame the snow meant we couldn't see most of it...

In short: Definite PB course, massive field and closed roads
In full: Only slight moan was the number of people starting way too far forward - but the guy on the tannoy must have asked 20 times, so maybe the race just attracts a large number of idiots (or maybe people who think that being able to do programme no. 5 on the treadmill means they're guaranteed a 36 minute 10k) (or people who don't understand English).

In short: Well organised, friendly - but wouldn't call it fast!
In full: The course basically runs down a big hill (make some time up down here) then back up again a different way (when you'll lose it again!). The uphill's never steep but goes on for a good 2 1/2 miles. Really friendly club organisers and marshalls, and very well organised - definitely one to do agan, but in today's weather not a PB course.

In short: Very quick, and not too crowded - one for the diary
In full: Apart from the lack of mile markers (which were promised) this was a great race. Fast, not too crowded and a good course on quiet roads. Definitely one to go back for.

In short: traffic free, two lapper - but not a PB course imho
In full: Great race - but too many corners and one very steep hill that mean it's not for the flyers. Well organised, with predicted time pens at the start, and the two lap format means you never go too far without support. Good day out for the family too, with a 5k and a fun run, plus bouncy castles and plentiful free parking. Thanks Ron!!

In short: Great race let down by awful start
In full: I suppose I sound churlich for moaning about a race where I knocked 2 minutes off my PB - but the lack of control at the start. Runners are supposed to assempble and then be walked round - what happened is people just hung around, so those of us who played by rules were rewarded with a minute plus wait to cross the line, and three miles of runing round slow runners strung out across the road - surely a candidate for chip timing?

In short: Great scenery, wonderful weather, great venue
In full: Brilliant. Brought the family who enjoyed playing in the field and clapping all the runners. Quite a tough course, i thought - having looked on Memory Map the longest uphill is coming back from Chapel Stile - worth remembering for next time - cos I'll be back!
