In short: Tough course - shame about some of the roads In full: Running along main roads wasn't ideal - particularly the petrol fumes from running past two petrol stations in a row - plus some traffic danger. Enthusiastic marshalls, and great support en-route. I was very slow though! Date of review: October 22, 2006

In short: Good Fun and... a PB In full: Almost didn't expect a PB, but definitely wanted one - hence the trial run for my new Mayflys (one or two more runs and they'll be worn out!) - finished next to a bloke running with a scooby do head on - slightly miffed that he was quicker than me wearing that thing, but good effort to the guy. Did anyone see the anti-nike proteseters? BrandLondon! very good! :) Date of review: October 10, 2006

In short: Well organised. Good Fun. Nice Jelly-babies. In full: First ever marathon - so happy to finish - and to beat my target time. I mostly liked the route; I thought the organisation was enthusiastic and the jelly babies were a nice touch. Obviously not the organisers fault, but running into the wind for most of miles 14-19 was hard work. It would also have been better if the course didn't double back on itself so often. I also think litter could have been better managed in the first half. after one drinks station, cups were just rolling along the street probably destined for the sea. a big bin bag to dump them in could have cut that down. But thanks guys for organising a good event. Date of review: September 3, 2006

In short: Toooooo Expensive In full: It needs chip timing for £30. It also needs a better organised start to get 20k people through. Good atmosphere though and nice to have the bands etc. More people need to train for these things too - they could learn from the nike training runs - too many non-runners puking at the side of the road. In short: Very Very hot! In full: struggled for a good time in the heat; and a gripe if any? passing the 5 mile marker before passing the 1 mile mark! km markers make more sense for a 10k. Date of review: June 12, 2006

In short: Brilliant In full: Thanks to the organisers for a supurb event; the marshalls were friendly and encouraging, and the course was quick and far from dull. Shaved two minutes off my PB, so great result from that perspective too. Thanks. Date of review: May 30, 2006

In short: Well organised but spectacularly dull In full: I would like to thank the Runner's world pacers - a fantastic resource for a race like this. But you can't get over just how breathtakingly dull a racetrack is to run around. Or how exposed to the wind. I imagine its great if your a petrol head, but not for me. Date of review: March 19, 2006

In short: Cracking In full: Thank you to the organisers for this fantastic series. Not as tough as the January G3, but the weather made up for it by being somewhat colder! Date of review: March 6, 2006
