In short: A very enjoyable 10k road race along quiet country lanes with plenty of PB potenntial.
In full: A lovel local 10k race through pretty empty country lanes taking in some typical Essex countryside.

The route is a reasonably flat out and back course with the finish line in the school grounds.

I managed to shave 15 seconds off my PB today which was previously 46.30 at the Southend 10k. So although not flat (and there can't be many flatter than Southend) it does have lots of PB potential.

Really well organised and the tea and cakes looked pretty good in the school hall afterwards. The t-shirts are always good at this race and this year was no exception.

In short: A great local 10K - and one year the sun might even shine !
In full: This was my second year and although I improved on last year's time by 2 minutes it's difficult to say how much quicker I could have gone without the wind and rain.

A really good figure of 8 loop makes it interesting for runners and spectators alike. The race always seems really well organised and I must add a massive thanks to the marshalls who endured the conditions today.

I just hope for the organisers and rest of the village fete that maybe next year it won't rain and blow a gale !

In short: An excellent local road race.
In full: The weather was just about perfect for May. Even with a reasonable wind I managed to knock 5 minutes off my time last year. The organisation was excellent and the course well marshalled. My wife and kids did the fun run and enjoyed that race as well. Will be back for more next year !

In short: A relatively flat point to point race with PB potential.
In full: A very enjoyable race. No big hills but enough variation for me ! A mix of town, countryside and housing estate but a decent enough route with plenty of encouraging marshalls along the route (who must have frozen today).
Yes, the walkers race goes off before the run, but I personally didn't find it a hindrance.
Many thanks to the organisers and marshall on a very well run event. I will certainly be back.

In short: An excellent local race, fantastic weather, with fierce hilly sections, ,
In full: A thoroughly enjoyable race in cold, sunny and frosty conditions. Glad we had a week without rain as I would imagine it has the potential to be very muddy indeed !

I really enjoyed the route and found it quite relaxing knowing that I wasn't going to chase a 10k PB today.

Excellent organisation, keen marshalls, and all in aid of a very worthwhile charity - many thanks to Andy Fay and all of the volunteers today.

In short: A great 10k with welcoming friendly marshalls. Undulating but without any nasty hills. Well worth the entry.
In full: A really enjoyable race which seemed to go like clockwork organisationally.

Whilst the course certainly undulates I don't think there was anything to even put off a first timer. Most of the course is rural with little traffic.

A nice downhill finish was certainly appreciated as were the friendly marshalls - thanks for your support.

Definetly one to get your entry in early for bearing in mind the 700 entry limit.

In short: A good race for a PB attempt
In full: A really enjoyable race and an excellent opportunity to gain a PB. The route is nice and flat and condtions today were perfect; cool, cloudy and no wind on most of the route.

Yes, the lack of a PA system could cause a few problems with people starting in the wrong places, but with the addition of chip timing this could be overcome. ( There were reasonably clear markers for sub 40 and 45 etc. but not everyone would have seen these )

I'd still thoroughly recommend the race ( partcicularly as this was my first ever race last year ! ) to beginners and experienced runners alike as there can't be too many 10k's with PB potential and support round most fo the course.

In short: A very enjoyable race, well marshalled and well supported.
In full: More challenging than you would imagine with a reasonable climb at the 3 and 8 mile points. In the heat today I was glad I opted for the 5 mile option !

The race was well marshalled and the traffic relatively quiet given it's a bank holiday weekend. Plenty of parking was available as well.

The uphill gravel road to finish wasn't an ideal end to the race but equally it would be tricky to have a finish on the main seafront road.

I would certainly do this race again - many thanks again to the organisers.

In short: A relatively flat race on rural roads with PB potential. Well organised, good value, and very enjoyable even in the heat.
In full: A very enjoyable race with quiet rural roads and some nice scenery. Well organised and certainly good value for money I would certainly recommend the race to all levels of runner. The lack of any "big" hills is a plus if you are chasing a PB although the course does undulate throughout.

I will certainly be back next year !
