In short: Another top NTR IX race In full: Near perfect conditions created a good race. Well marshalled, 3 water stations, perfect organisation at the start, with ample parking and ship/number collection points. Not a bargain race given the cheap t-shirt momento, but won't stop me from returning for 2012! Date of review: January 19, 2011

2010 Croome Capability Canter 6.5

In short: You'd never know that this was an inaugural event! In full: BPJ have come up with a great first time race here, through the Croome Court parkland, and around the buildings and river. Plenty of marshalls, the chance to 'run with the cows', a unique landscape, and 200+ keen runners made this a great occassion. There was no memento other than the consumable sort, but you did get a hot cuppa also which is lovely after a wet and muddy run! Hopefully the National Trust will see the cash they get from it as justification to allow the event to be repeated. Course may have been over the 6.5m mentioned, but it was only ever an approximation, but the start and finish both running up to the church was a little mean, but worked you properly! Would love to be back next year. Date of review: November 11, 2010

2010 Nationwide Swindon Half Marathon and Fun Runs

In short: Previous good reviews proved well founded In full: Thoroughly enjoyed my first Swindon Half. Very well organised, reasonable value at £18 for a medal & t-shirt, 2 bands on the route (which you pass twice), energy drinks provided en-route, and a good level of support along a lot of the course. The course avoids Swindon itself to focus on quiet country lanes to the south, but all roads are closed to traffic, so perfectly safe. A very well organised event, which I'd be happy to return to next year. Date of review: October 12, 2010

In short: Pleasant course for this unusual distance In full: This was a very friendly, non-clubby run with about 150 entrants. The weather ended up hot and sunny, compared to the wet and cold that was forecast, and I soon wished the forecasts were right! It was very hot running across the open fields, and the one water station wasn't until 8km around the 10.5k route. The course was well mashalled throughout, and a fair bit of support along the way. The few club runners that did race didn't seem to want to remain at the race hq for an hour plus after finishing in order to collect a certificate - the momento for completing the £7 race (with no discount for affiliated runners). In short: Lovely rural location, off road course, and even deers running free! In full: Well organised event, in a beautiful setting, although views were often limited due to running through woodland. The course is predominantly flat, although caution is needed on some areas with very uneven ground. Date of review: August 1, 2010

In short: Another good Pitchcroft 10k In full: Conditions were good, with just a bit of a breeze in the home straight each lap. Another change of medal, and everything else was as smooth as usual. See you in 2011... Date of review: July 19, 2010

In short: Great race through lovely scenary In full: Was a tad warm, but felt nice and cool under the tree cover for the majority of the race. Great organisation as usual, lovely challenging route, and the only traffic seen was passing cyclists shouting support! Will return again. Date of review: July 12, 2010

In short: An improved course over last year, and smooth as clockwork (even though the gound wasn't! In full: The 2nd Malvern Joggers 10k run was over a revised route, taking in the Gullet Quarry now, and avoiding the main road completely, thus making it more scenic, safer and possibly a little easier going. Weather was beutiful, organisation perfect (from the pre-race meet, to the double sausage burgers at the end), plenty of marshalls all cheering you on, and a nice mug to take home. Will definately be back again, as this ranks up there as a top Worcestershire race. Many thanks Joggers (but ease up on the World Cup horns next year, they hurt the ears)!!! In short: Another excellent run of the Acorns Malvern 1/2 In full: Was a tad humid, but with 4 water stations enroute, all seemed to go ok. Did see one person collapse at the end however. Event was brilliantly organised as usual, with some good support and friendly marshalls along the way. Will be back next year again. Date of review: June 7, 2010

In short: Beautiful day for a beautiful run.... In full: Was nice to have a glorious day for the run this year, affording us lovely views from the hills of the countryside, the Deer Park and Eastnor Castle. Good organisation as usual, and everything was as we've come to expect - top quality. Will come again next year. Date of review: April 20, 2010
