In short: Tough hilly course but fantastic scenery and friendly atmosphere
In full: This was a tough course with a number of very long and steep hills, but we walked up them where necessary. Views from the top were stunning, and the final flat mile through the bluebell woods was fantastic. Friendly crowd both running and organising, and loved the jam doughnut at the end. Can we have two next year please ?

In short: Humidity made this tough course very difficult this year
In full: Always a tough race due to the long hill at 3 miles, but the humidity and apparent lack of breathable air on the course made the 2006 event really hard. Five drinks stations (thanks organisers) helped, but my time was still over 4 minutes down on the flat Pitchcroft 10km 3 weeks earlier.

In short: Excellent event through the scenic Cannock Chase
In full: Multi-lap course with additional loop on second lap, one hill of any note and potential for a fast time. Nearly caught one of my ex club colleagues, but he turned and spotted me 1/4 mile from the finish - swine ! Wanted to break 40 minutes and my watch said 39.59(.47) line to line. That'll do it for me.

In short: Excellent race organised superbly over an interesting and scenic road course
In full: I cannot understand the previous reviewers comments. Never having done this race before, I simply looked Cranham up on a map, found the location on the website, and drove straight to the Cricket Club and car park on the night. No problem whatsoever. The event is part of the Cranham Deer Roast and the whole atmosphere of the evening was superb. Even the cruel climb up to the finish didn't spoil the race. Well done to Gloucester AC who managed to hand out an energy bar and an energy drink to all finishers despite the entry fee being only £4. Why so few runners though - THIS IS A TERRIFIC RACE. Hopefully it will continue, and I will definitely be back in 2007, even if only for the venison burgers and Cranham Pimms ! Thanks to all concerned.

In short: Tough but enjoyable race with plenty of fast downhill woodland stretches.
In full: My only niggles were the fact that having entered on Monday, Stroud AC couldn't be bothered to send my details back which was OK, but they then conveniently "lost" my sae which they hadn't used. Not nice ! Shame there was no water at the finish, though the drinks station on the course was oerfectly positioned.
