In short: Despite the problems will do this one again
In full: I really enjoyed this race. Shame about the heat (which nobody can help)and the water problem but many positives also. Brilliant support from locals and organisers, a lovely route along the coast, lovely t-shirt. Not going to say anything bad, everybody else has already said it. I enjoyed this anyway inspite of the problems and I would definitely do it again

In short: Organisation improved this year, a lovely race in a beautiful setting
In full: The organisation has definitely improved this year. The Start was signposted, there was water on the course and there were mile markers. Also found the marshalls very encouraging this year. The fallen tree was not a problem really nor was the t shirt being the same as last year as it is a nice t-shirt anyway. This really is a lovely route in a nice setting and I would definitely do it again

In short: A nice course with some encouraging marshalls and a good friendly crowd of runners
In full: Plenty of water stations and jelly babies too!. Some very encouraging marshalls along the way. A pleasant out and back course. I agree water was needed at the end but the rest of the organisation was good. Liked the times given at 5, 10 and 15 miles as my Garmin packed up before the start so still no idea of time as cant find any results yet.
Some very encouraging runners between 18 and 20 miles and a downhill finish helped

In short: Enjoyed this race once again, a definite feel good race with great route and atmosphere
In full: Second time of doing this race, enjoyed it as much as the first time. I had forgotten that the first five miles are undulating!!, still managed a PB and knocked 2 1/2 mins off last years time. Great organisation and marshalls and a very pleasant route/area. Hope to be back next year

In short: Really enjoyed this race, best fiver ever spent!, cant wait for next year
In full: This is a fabulous race in a beautiful part of Yorkshire. The view from the Shepherds Rest pub was worth the effort of the climb up to it. (I heard one competitor describe this race as a "fell race without the mud"!)A nice day too. A 15 minuite delay at the start but even that didnt spoil things. Will be back again next year for sure, thanks to Todmorden Harriers

In short: 2nd time doing this race and loved it just as much as the first
In full: Excellent organisation and marshalls. Some tough hills especially the 'Birstwith Beast' but the sign at the bottom of the hill kind of gave away what was coming! Managed to knock 5 1/2 mins of last years time. Excellent goody bag and t-shirt again. Cant fault this race, well done and thanks to Nidd Valley Road Runners

In short: Enjoyed this race, nice atmosphere, unusual distance and a challenging course
In full: Was wary of the hills as this is a hilly part of Yorkshire but they werent as bad as i expected. A pleasant two lap course with some good marshalls and a nice atmosphere. Would definitely do this one again, well done to Holmfirth Harriers

In short: Hard hills but great atmosphere in a lovely setting
In full: No chance for a PB on this course but well worth doing. The hills were tough with many people reduced to a walk at times but the atmosphere was fantastic all the way through. Some very encouraging marshalls and good support on the last hill back to the castle grounds. Even a beer festival at the end with sarnies and cakes. Nice washbag too. Thanks to Swaledale road runners.
