In short: Tougher Course than expected.. Good. In full: Good value race on the same day as the Reading Half Rip-Off. Nice medal and a banana, lots of water stations and a tough ol' course - Some good challenging hills and good fun down the high street - Damn good for £16. Date of review: March 20, 2011
In short: Lots to learn, good basis to work from. In full: Well, rocked in with 6th place, so pretty happy with my performance, but a lot to be learnt.
Pros >Quiet course >Lots of parking available on campus >Reasonable price for a 5 mile race >I love a medal and a little goody bag
Cons > Bad Marshalling, i.e. - Marshall stood on corner, didn't indicate direction to go until I was on the corner - Corners unmarshalled - Tiny bits of bunting used as markers, not easy to see 200m off
> Almost no signposting of car park, and almost no signposting for toilets, drinks
> Race start was a flag, with no clear line
May be back, shall see. Date of review: March 12, 2011
In short: Fantastic Spooky Fun! In full: Great race, amazing to run in the dark with spooky bands, pumpkins, orange glowsticks, and the glow of headlights chasing you, then finishing with a lovely mug of pumpkin soup in a souvenir mug. I'll be back, amazing fun - Watching the headlights bob back across the field was amazing. Great work folks! Date of review: November 1, 2010
