In short: An excellent course up and down the hills through the woods. Organisation not great this year.
In full: This is an excellent race I have done many times before. My kids (5 and 3) also run the 1k race and love it. The hills are honest - you always come down what you run up and sometimes are step but always short. The course and marshaling was excellent as usual but the organisation at the start was definitely poorer than in previous years. There were far fewer toilets than previously, the slow registration caused a 15 minute delay (in the rain) and the PA system was inaudible. It didn't spoil the day, far from it.

In short: Fantastic course, hilly but supringly fast.
In full: I love this race and it was good that the weather was friendly for once. The organisers make significant improvements every year to the facilities which is great to see. The only downside is that its always hard to get into Berkhamsted and get parked and almost as painful to get out.

In short: Well marshalled and decent course. Long gentle inclines add a challenge to getting a PB.
In full: This was an excellently marshaled event apart from one point where I and another competitor were stopped by a police officer in order to give some cars a chance to drive through. Neither of us could quite believe it. There were only three cars waiting, there was a big gap in behind us and the cars were stopped when we got to the road (i.e. no safety issue). It was especially surprising as this was the in the last half mile. Still, my indignation give me a boost over the last stretch!

In short: Big race and has a real special event feel to it, espcially locally. Course is pretty good. Chip timings are essential given the huge field.

In short: Shady lanes and plenty of water stations very welcome on this hot day
In full: Well organised as usual with excellent marshal support. The course is so much better than it used to be, lots of mild hills. As usual it was very hot and this detracted from the chances of good time.

In short: Excellent course and good weather conditions. Nice to be out in the country.
In full: I liked the realistically sized time pens (not sure if thats the right word) at the start. I ran this course the other way round a couple of years ago and it doesn't compare. This way is much better. I got a pretty good time even though there are a lot of gentle climbs.
Good marshal support as usual. Toilets didn't look like much fun.

In short: Very well planned out course through beautiful woodlands. Hills made it interesting.
In full: If you have kids then this is a great way to spend the bank holiday morning. They can enter the 1k or 3k and there are lots of facilties nearby.
