In short: Great organisation, Great surport, Great Race. In full: I really enjoyed this race, nice route, good turnout and for me well organised plenty of marshalls on the course, could have done with bottled water 1/2 way rather then a cup aside fromthat it was fine, nice finish, plenty of water and powerade, well done to the organisers Date of review: May 23, 2010
In short: Great organisation, Great surport, Great Race. In full: Firstly i'd like to thank the Rotary Club for organising a great race at a great price, and price is the key for all those critising the use of plastic cups, £23-25 is definetly 1 of the cheapeast marathons out there, for me I found the water availiable adequate for the day, anyway the route was ok, although I felt like others that the greenway was way 2 long on the second lap but loved the last mile or so to the finish, did think the water and banana was a joke but I accept this keeps the race entry down, all in alla good day, a nice PB and a great Medal.
In short: Nice Sunday park run In full: Shame about the rain, but aside from that a nice morning, good organisation and surpport from the marshall (thank you), shame about the distance, but still a good day. Date of review: November 29, 2009
In short: Fantastic Marathon In full: I really enjoyed this race, I only have 2 dissapointments 1 was the start but we all know what happened so i'm not going to go into that, the other is the lack of toilets at the start, when will race organisers start using the portable urinal's which i've seen at great run race? problems aside this was one of my favorite events, once the start came everything went perfectly, drink stations were well placed and the surport for such a rural surrounding was impressive, thank you. the hills were a problem especially the last one but with more hill training I will give it another stab next year, the end in the stadium was great and all the stewards were great throughout.
THANK YOU FOR A MEMORABLE RACE WEEKEND Date of review: October 6, 2009
In short: Great fun family race In full: My only complain like all others was the distance and KM markers, with GPS watches and maping it should have been possible to mark the course out correctly, but that aside everything was really good, the marshalls and the PC's made it a safe route wih lots of encouragement, thanks to all who helped out, looking forward to next year but hope for all running the KM markers are accurate. In short: Great Race, Great Organisation, Great Day In full: I really enjoyed this event, everything was well organised, a great route, great turnout and great weather, what more can you ask for a great goodie bag!!!!!!! no thank you to organisers and marshalls. Date of review: September 17, 2009
In short: Could have been so much better In full: Shame as the park is a nice setting for the run but the course and lack of organisation made it barely enjoyable, the best part of the race was the price, £10 entry is great and probably reflects the lack of marshalls, distance markers and the fact the course was at least 400meters short, with a little more effort this could be a 10k. In short: So glad I was in the orange wave!!!!!!!!! In full: Starting in the orange wave was probably what made me enjoy this race as until reading others comments I did not realise the congestion was so bad, for me and others around, the course was pure speed and got me my personal best. I can understand peoples frustration at the congestion and from the description of last years start, feel that would have made a difference but this is a city race and with close to 10000 entrants and who's know how many spectators congestion was to be expected. If a more open start and finish location can be found that will be make a good race great. Well done to everyone, who raced and especially the cheery spectators, cheers. Date of review: May 6, 2009
In short: Thanks to BHF and the volunteers for organising this event In full: A great event well organised with only a 2 small faults, the start was chaotic especially urging the 5k to start before the 10k, in my mind it would have made more sense for them to start after and would have avoided the slow start and the cutting of the 1st corner to get through, free entry to a 10k in Hyde park with money raised surporting my preffered charity. In short: Great organisation and good course only downside funnel like start makes it a slow beginning, only 1/2 dozen toilets, token goodie bag limited water at end of race, having said that still really enjoyed the day and the surport from th e Date of review: March 8, 2009
