In short: Fantastic fairly flat race through beautiful North Yorkshire country side
In full: Very well marshalled, nice quiet roads & track through farm yard. Water station at half way & finish. Couldnt fault it other than it rained all day! Well done to Easingwold Running Club I'll be back next year.

In short: Fantastic!
In full: My first GNR & cant wait to do it all again. The crowds were very supportive, the bands were brilliant. Not a hilly course but quite testing given the volume of people taking part and it was humid once the rain had stopped. I enjoyed the hospitality in the charity marquees afterwards. Loved the t-shirt, the medal and full goody bag. I'll definately be back next year.

In short: Fantastic event & well organised
In full: The first half was great, if a little hilly but loved the course in and around the city. The second half was less interesting and made mentally harder by the switchbacks at the water centre, however the motivation team at mile 19 were brilliant and encouraging. Agree with other comments re the canal path and avoiding cyclists, pushchairs etc. some people seemed oblivious that there was a race going on! The finish area was very well organised with people waiting to help. Also the kit tent staff were very friendly & efficient retrieving bags quickly, the kit tents themselves were equipped with male & female changing areas - a lot of thought had gone into providing facilities for runners. Excellent!

In short: Fantastic race, lovely scenic & flat course
In full: Well organised, enthusiatic crowds and marshalls. Course is flat with a few twists and turns around the City of York, along the river bank return to the racecourse and the wonderful fast straight to the finish line. Some improvements on last years organisation so they took notice! Nice t-shirt & lucozade at the finish. Will definately do this again next year.

In short: Challenging course - will test your stamina!
In full: Enjoyed this race, the hills arent steep but they do seem to go on forever! Loved the downhill bit in the middle and again at the finish. Just needed to be wary of the cyclists racing in the opposite direction. Plenty of water/sponge stations & cheerful marshalls. Will be back next year!

In short: As always brilliant, nice, good feeling race
In full: Starting pens would help but it still relies on people being honest about their abilities! At Hull there were start pens and yet walkers were on at the front! Lovely to have Paula Radcliffe and Nell McAndrew joining in as well as the occasional celeb too - Chris Chittell (Eric Pollard of Emmerdale) - could do with more celebs to raise the profile of this excellent 'home grown' event.

In short: Traffic-free road race, undulating, well organised & marshalled
In full: Nice friendly race in aid of the hospice. Chip timed, t-shirts,water at half way and the finish line and the road closed for the race ensured it was traffic free - cant fault it.

In short: Fantastic pb race, great organisation & fab marshalls
In full: Extremely well organised, very slick registration/chip collection & retrieval at the finish, plenty of toilets, cheery & encouraging marshalls despite being stood in the rain. Well done Knavesmire Harriers!!

In short: Fairly flat, fast and definate PB potential!!
In full: Very good race, course not very interesting juat a straight out and back but crowds all along the way. The starting pens helped to put people in the right order so walkers were near the back and faster runners near the front. T-shirt, water and lucozade at the finish. Perhaps next year bigger bins for collecting the chips as it wasnt easy to spot someone carrying a bucket!

In short: Fantastic!!!
In full: Drenched & soaked to the skin before the start! Warmed up once underway and thoroughly enjoyed it. You were either running up hill or running down hill, there didnt seem to be any level road inbetween. Nice start and finish in the grounds and courtyard of Ripley Castle. I managed a pb so was over the moon with my time despite the rain & mud. Very well organised, great marshalls and a fantastic choccy filled goody bag & t-shirt at the finish. I'll definately do this one again next year. Well done Nidd Valley Road Runners!!!
