In short: worth the journey
In full: I came down from derbyshire to do it as a pre VLM having read the reports of what a good pre london race it was and I was not disappointed,
the marsals where very good and gave everybody lots support.I was also able to pace myself with very pleasant young lady from London called Nicola who is also doing VLM which greatley helped me to keep to my pace time, hope you do well at London Nicola I hope I got your right as I have a terrible memory for names. The hoody is great even my daughter liked it well done for a great event.

In short: Plenty of mud, miles of it 16mile race
In full: Well to start with the reg'n was good, also 2 water stops good, but after that it was rather poor. the course markings were very poor with people making mistakes, and a runner who was with me missed a turning because there man had not arrived to fit the marker and this made him lose is lead in the race.
I arrived at the fin line with a big white van parked, blocking the entrance to the hall where you had to time in, I was redirected back to the hall and my number was taken, when results where posted I was not on list,(put as not completed)they said they had been very hectic, I had come in on my own, at 65 after all that effort to have it ruined is a farce. Results no ages given to see how you'v done, it made me feel they only do the min,and are only interestd in the school fund. Could do better.

In short: great race but cold
In full: I was very pleased with this event, I did feel they pened us up a little early which kept you from being able to warm well before the start, but to say it was the first time for the race I found it to be well run with lots of well stocked stations, and the best goody bag I have had plus a nice medal. I liked it that much that I am thinking of traveling to Scotland for the other event . finally having done a local 16mile cross country three weeks before, to have them put me down as a none runner and did not record my time just shows how bad some event orginizers are.

In full: had traveled from derbyshire to do first event which was cancelled but you cannot do much about the weather. drinking water is it possable to have it a bit warmer it was ice cold and almost impossable to drink when running a lot of runners seemed to be throwing it away after a couple of drinks, saying that I did enjoy the race and do hope to be back next year

In full: I WAS 65 YESTERDAY AND TRAVELED DOWN FROM DERBYSHIRE AS BIRTHDAY TREAT, I LIKED THE MEDAL AND REALLY LIKED THAT THEY MENTIONED THAT IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY YESTERDAY THANKS VERY MUCH. I FOUND THE RUN ENJOYABLE BUT VERY HOT. AND MY TIME WAS SLOWER THAN I HAD HOPED. JUST A THREE MINOR POINTS, I DID FIND THAT STEP HILL AT THE END VERY DANGEROUS, AND WAS GLAD IT WAS NOT WET . WERE WAS THE GOODY BAG. ALSO IT WAS A LONG WAY BACK TO THE PARKING ON A HOT DAY. BUT I'LL BE BACK.THANKS VERY MUCH BILL MITCHELL

In full: Enjoyed race but found the last bit along lake side a bit boring as it seemed to go on forever. Main gripe it is now a week since the race and I still have not been able to find the results I e-mailed no reply. To all race organizers please put on your site how to find the results after the race, I have spent ages with no luck and it spoils the feel of the event.
