In short: First class organisation, great facilities, fantastic value and very friendlyy
In full: I'm stunned you can run the full marathon for £15 or £17 (unaff). The organisation is absolutely top notch and the college facilities are an excellent starting venue, I had no trouble parking for free in the college car park - no need for baggage drops etc.. The chip times were up within minutes of me finishing the race, medals, T-shirts - great!
The course is OK, not the most scenic, but the spectator support and enthusiasm of the stewards and volunteers at the frequent water and sponge stations more than made up for it.
Thank you Taunton for a very memorable day.

In short: Mud, scenery, a couple of big hills, more mud
In full: This is very much a challenge rather than a standard marathon. Personal bests are out of the window as there are about 40 gates and styles and some of the paths are hard to stay upright on. It's mostly on a coastal path across one muddy field after another with some serious topography in places!
Scenery is fantastic, organisers very friendly and welcoming. I may well do this again in June 2009.
Only criticism - a water stop closer to the finish would have been welcome, maybe Littlesea or the Bridging Camp?
My GPS said 26.55 miles, but that makes me feel like I achieved that little bit extra! :-)

In short: Twisting and undulating country lanes, great fun.
In full: My first ever event and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very well organised and friendly. I enjoyed the route, the hills aren't as bad as some of these reviews led me to believe before the race.
It is very congested at the start of the race which does cost you time - but this is a small village with narrow lanes and 600 keen (frozen) runners chomping at the bit!
More than 2 toilets would have been welcome. :-/
