In short: tough race especially with thw ind around the lake In full: First time at the Robin Hood and really enjoyed it. A very well organised race, great onsite parking at start, plenty of toilets, excellent water stations with water, lucozade and gels at most. The first half is midly hilly, but boasts lovely scenery through park areas. The second lap was a total contrast. the lap was flatter than the first, but with very long stretches and run around the lake with wind was soul destroying at times. Full praise for all those who ran the full marathon it was tough out there! Date of review: September 11, 2011

In short: this race just keeps getting better each year In full: This was my 3rd time running this race and I had a great day. the course is undulating and does have a couple of steep moments in particular mile 12.The course despite the undulations is a fast course and the change to the finish area is an improvement. The organisation and support of the marshalls was suberb. I would find it very difficult to find fault with this race. The chip timing was an added bonus and nice t-shirt at the end. Collecting the numbers was fine for me as my dog tends to eat my post! Will definetely be back for a fourth time in 2012. Well done kenilworth. Date of review: September 6, 2011

In short: another sunny run along the canal In full: 2nd time running this and it was well worth it. The raceis one of most unique on the half marathon calendar- what other race starts by going through a door. This was my first race back after an injury lay off and I really enjoyed it. Superb organistion and lovely weather. Marshalls were great shouting encouragement on an hot day and really enjoyed the finish. Nice medal and goody bag and great area for post race fluid resuscitation. See you next year Date of review: July 2, 2011

In short: lovely challenging run In full: my second year at Stratford and learnt some valuable lessons i.e if you run the first half to fast by mile 20 your legs will feel like jelly and you might fall over. Despite this well organised, challenging and rewarding race with a lovely run in to the line. Be back next with better training and tactics Date of review: May 9, 2011

In short: nice run In full: This was my third Kilomathon and this was the smallest amount of runners so far. There were a few problems at the start i.e not enough and delayed buses. The signage to the parking could also have been better. The start area also had way to few toilets. The race was described as flat, which it was not,in particular the first few miles. However,it was a good run and the finish on the athletics track was good. The marshals and on course organisation make it a standout run. I like the Kilomathon format, but I worry that due to the very high price it will fail to survive Date of review: March 21, 2011

In short: fantastic support but freezing cold In full: I was bit uncertain on this one as there were very large race numbers and some of the feedback in the event ratings was critical of the organisation. I felt it was very well organised.I used the bath race course park and ride and it was spot on. The course was fairly flat, with a mixture of scenic and semi industrial. The race start went well and despite the high numbers it settled into a good race. I have ran 21 half and full marathons and the crowd support at Bath was the best I have ever seen on a freezing cold day. Well done the people of bath. Super medal and goody bag. In short: well organised fairly flat race In full: well organised race.Park and ride an excellant idea and bag storage also well done.Lovely medal and nice to see race time at 10 miles to inspire you on(shame the hills killed my legs)The course was fairly flat until about 8 miles and the a few undulations and the easiest two mile run you can do
the only negative was the start as to many runners were funnelled into a narrow area before getting on the road
other than that excellant race
the only negative was the Date of review: January 23, 2011

In short: nice friendly flat run In full: Very well organised friendly run on a mostly flat fast course. Plenty of parking within a few minutes walking distance to the start. Slightly icy at the start, which soon cleared. Fast course with a small group of runners. Lovely medal and welcome mars bar at the end. great way to start the new year Date of review: January 3, 2011

In short: magnificent scenery and nice challenging run In full: this was my fifth marathon event in seven weeks and I certainly felt it today. However, this was a really well organised event. Despite my wear and tear I did enjoy it. The route goes through some absolutely beautiful areas. The course is quick and had a good amount of uphill and downhill. Nice quirky t-shirt and a race I would definetely run again Date of review: October 31, 2010

In short: shambolic start, too many people running at walking pace with ipods on In full: This race has such great potential. However, until the organisers sort out the problems the numbers should be limited to a sensible 5 or 6 thousand. Getting into a start pen was a nightmare as supporters so densely lined the route it encouraged people to start from the wrong pen. Please next year stand the supporters well back from the start! Also why no speaker system to help organise things. This was my 12th marathon this year and the congestion with volume of runners and people who obviously started from the wrong pen for the first three miles was awful.Trying to achieve a PB when you have a group of ipod plodders hogging the middle of the road was so frustrating. That said, the marshalling on the course was great as was the local support and atmosphere. The course with the exception of the last two and half miles is fast. I had no problems at the finish and an excellant medal and goody bag. Please Birmingham organisers listen to the comments on here and you will have one of the best half marathons in the country. Maybe look at a full marathon as well Date of review: October 24, 2010
