In short: Tough as HELL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In full: The reason for putting "maybe" under "Would you do it again" is purely because the race is so hard. No doubt that the temperature this year (26-28 degrees C) made it particularly testing, but make no mistake, the course is brutal.
Having said that, I'd also classify this race as a "must-do". The scenery is spectacular and the course is truly epic. One of those events that you think everyone should do at least once.
Organisation was solid, marshalling was excellent, course was very well marked and there was plenty of water on the course, which was a life saver ;-) Date of review: June 11, 2006
In short: Absolute classic. In full: The fact that this is the longest running 10 miler in the UK, is reason enough to do this race. A quick glance at the previous list of winners, which includes Ron Hill and Steve Cram amongst many other great names, attests to the pedigree of this event. But perhaps the best reason to run this race is that it offers the chance to be soundly beaten by a bunch of mainly northern runners who are tough as nails but as friendly as can be.
