2010 Jolly Holly Jog 10K
Would you do it again?

Yes

In short: I would like to try and do it for the first time because I didn't get to do it when it was scheduled!!
In full: I checked the website several times the day before the event (because of various weather forecasts) and checked it at least four times up to 9 A.M on the day of the run. I then drove 58 miles looking forward to a mid Christmas clear out only to find the race had been cancelled at ridiculously short notice!! Thank you Ripon.

In short: Typical corporate run
In full: Boring run but great for a PB. Only did this because my missus likes flat city centre runs! At least the money goes to a good cause.

In short: Hell up North!!!!
In full: My first Hell run and I have to say it was devilish! I was running with a cold so I felt my energy draining on some of the climbs. They promised mud amd we certainly got plenty. The Bog of Doom was great fun and a great finish to the race. I think the quality of the t-shirt and "goody" bag was quite poor considering it cost £25 to enter. All in all it was an enjoyable day and I certainly enjoyed my hot shower when I got home. See you again next year Hellrunner??

In short: Pleasant course. PB potential for all.
In full: I have to agree with other contributors- there were no great facilities on offer, a chance to buy a hot drink at the end of the race would have been nice. I didn't encounter any problems following the course as it seemed well marshalled. The course was a perfect Sunday morning 10 miler but the wind certainly added several minutes to finishing times. I would do it again but I hope the organisers take on board the criticisms and offer a bit more next year (a tech t-shirt for the price we paid would have been better)!!

In short: This is a great race.
In full: I really enjoyed the experience of crossing one of the longest suspension bridges in Europe. The route is slightly boring but the run feels quite iconic. There is definite potential for a PB and this was also my wife's first 10k so it is a great run for all. Very well organised and well marshalled. Thank you Hull.

In short: Not the best race in the world!
In full: This is most definitely an over priced race. It has PB written all over it if that's the way you want to run on a weekend.A course that certainly lacks inspiration, I shall keep looking for provincial off-roaders. Thanks for the Man City programme- what the ....! Very well organised, but can we have a tech shirt instead of a cotton shirt. My daughter has a drawer full of running/night shirts.

In short: The course was a little grim!!
In full: I found the course a little bit grim- it felt like a good training run but not a race route. It seemed we were running at night during some parts of the heavily tree lined course;the overcast weather must have contributed to this. The organisation was fine and there were certainly plenty of marshals along the course, I must admit I had been feeling under the weather for a couple of days before the race so this might have prejudiced my view of the day. Thanks for a well organised day. As a footnote my wife found the course more difficult than she thought it was going to be.

In short: What a tough, but rewarding run
In full: Great scenery, great organisation, one of the toughest runs i have ever undertaken. Really pleased with my sub 50 minute time. The event was excellent from start to finish. I would recommend this run.

In short: Shame about the scruffy seafront, but thoroughly enjoyed it.
In full: Excellent organisation. Course is perfect for a PB (got one yesterday)but it is a bit of a straight drag past a time warp sea front, littered with hungover party people lubricating their tonsils with their first beers of the day! The end was a bit of a bottle neck and the time i have been awarded is slower than the time i actually did (although this happens at a lot of races). Sounds like a bit of a moan but i DID enjoy my first Blakpool run. Congrats to the organisers.

In short: Quite boring. 3 laps of the park and athletics track. PB material for most.
In full: Bit of a rip-off at £12 unattached. They don't have to organise a great deal because the run takes place on the area surrounding the stadium and within. Got myself a PB for the year but i don't think i will do it again.
