In short: Nice Flat, fast race In full: Surprisingly not as crowded as I was expecting and managed a PB on this flat course. just very busy at the end trying to get through the spectators!! Date of review: October 8, 2012
In short: Nice and scenic course In full: My first time doing this race and no my last. Despite the slight hills this is still a fast course. It looked very much like the entire village of Leigh turned out to cheer us on despite the rain. Well organised and plenty of parking. Date of review: September 23, 2012
In short: Well organised challenging run In full: My second year and every bit as good as last year. Friendley encouraging marshalls to get you up them steep hills, especially at the end. Date of review: September 2, 2012
In short: A well organised challenging race In full: Oooh them hills!! Apart from that a lovely part of the country and friendly marshalls. Yes some idea of when the last mile was due would help but a great day out. Ear defenders for the starting Cannon yes a Cannon!!!! Date of review: August 26, 2012
In short: Well done! In full: Thanks to the hard work and regular updates of the organisers, the race was able to go ahead. Yes the route was changed but the weather was terrible in the previous weeks and evidence of recent flooding was still present. Not as big a turnout as previous years but still a great race. Once again many thanks SLH Date of review: July 15, 2012
In short: A well organised Road Race which is "Off Road" In full: This was a brand new event held on a newly opened Cycle track. There was only about 70 runners, which was a shame but was held on a mid-week evening and not well advertised. The course had a couple of slopes but has the potential to be fairly fast and no traffic to worry about. If it was better adverised and held on a weekend this has the potential to be a very good event. Overall it was well organised and plenty of support from the marshalls and St John personel Date of review: June 7, 2012
In short: A very nice and challenging event In full: The run was part of a day long Jubilee celebration and the whole town was out to watch the events wich made it a bit special. The route had a nice mix of terraine and one killer hill at 5-6K. The route was also well marshalled. There was plenty of support along the route to and a thank you to the children at the top of the hill handing out jelly babies!!
A T shirt was given to all finishers but in light of the event a momento/medal may have been more appropriate.
In summary a very nice day and I hope they run the event next year! Date of review: June 5, 2012
