In short: Brilliantly organised race on challenging, muddy course (for me!) In full: This was my first multi terrain race and it was a great experience. But theyre not made for me, so I'll be sticking to road races - on flat courses! This one definitely undulates! Course was very muddy in 2 sections otherwise was safe enough. Good thing the rain held off.
Again, Nice Work organised this race like clockwork even with the dodgy Bank Holiday weekend weather. 389 runners turned out. 1 water station that you pass (thankfully) 4 times. May need more than the 4 portaloos. Nice medal. Goody bag was disappointing.
In short: Fast course, excellent organisation In full: My first ever race and one that convert any non runner based on the flat course, the brilliant organisation and awesome atmosphere in the last 3 Kms.
The organisation is very professional given the large field (9000 runners). From the race packs received very early, wave starts, water stations and clockwork like post finish trail (silver sheet, medal, powerade, banana).
I have now done 5 half marathons and 6 10Km races and have entered next month's race. Bristol got me hooked on running! Date of review: April 17, 2012
In short: Brilliantly organised race on a fast scenic course In full: Have to look hard to find fault in this race. Brilliant organisation from online registration, informative race packs received very early, water and sponge stations, post race organisation (medal, water, fruit, goody bag). Goody bag is one of the best I've had (incl energy bar, choc, crisps).
The public support was amazing and uplifting. Loved that.
Only suggestion would be to have an energy drink (lucozade, powerade)at the last water station. Other than that I will be back.
In short: Good challenging course; brilliiantly organised In full: Brilliant race. Just enough hills to make it a challenge. Perfect conditions for running (about 5 degrees). The numbers were a touch low probably largely due to the race being postponed from January.
This race was organised with military precision (had assistance from local air cadets!) - from the car park marshalling, number collection and post race arrangements (water, banana, medal and mug). Pity about no chip timing but that wasnt a big issue for me. There were plenty of marshalls along the route who were brilliant. Not many public supporters/spectators but the marshalls made up for that.
Maybe the last water station with powerade/lucozade would be good.
In short: Excellent race, course, organisation In full: I now know why this race is rated so highly in the RW polls last year. Brilliantly organised event by Nice Work - fast course capped off by a perfect day for running. Course is all along country lanes. Very safe. 1 water station, excellent marshalls. Lots of chocolate goodies, bananas and water at the end with nice medal. Will run this race again. Date of review: March 19, 2012
In short: Fun feelgood run In full: Enjoyable run despite cold conditions. Had good number of Santas and elves which was nice to see. The course is fast - just one short gradual rise to get up to the cycling track (which means nice down hill finish!)then flattish course. Very enjoyable, well run fun run. Nice Rudolph medals, mulled wine and mince pies. Date of review: December 18, 2011
In short: Excellent race, course, organisation In full: Such a well organised event - have it all covered from car park marshalls to changing facilities and a fast course to boot! Love the goody bag (no flyers!) and very impressive medal!
Best event I have participated in - even beats the big Bristol races (10Km and Half). I will be back! Date of review: December 5, 2011
