In short: This is a quiet small event. Nothing wrong with it but it would not be your favourite for the year In full: Organisation and atmosphere was respectful. A good course for a PB in a warmer month, very spacious course. But watch your footing in areas. Very open to the elements as you would expect. It made a good 1st run for the year for myself. I woukd not make it a priority to do it again but there was nothing wrong with it either. Date of review: January 30, 2011
In short: Good event. The event has had better courses in the past. Felt like an urban cross country I In full: I appreciate due to reasons out of the organisers hands the course needed to be changed at the last minute but it felt like an urban cross country at times. Not too sure I liked the course. I did the event in 2005 when it started outside the Millennium stadium and finished inside. I felt that was one of the best courses I have ever run.
Organisation was good, toilet area especially. Start and finish could do with being wider and spectators off the road at the finish.
In short: Well done people of Bath. Shame to the organisers. In full: The runners and the people of Bath did themself proud. I will not repeat what has already been said on the improvements needed but I would say that if the Bath Half Marathon wants to continue to be one of the largest events in the country it may need new organisers running the event. A lot of changes are required and the current organisers may need to step down and allow more experienced personnel take over. 15,000 people is a lot of people and bad organisation can be dangerous.
