In short: up and down all the way, very few flat parts In full: this was a training run for FLM and my first time at this distance. Started off very slowely so had fuel in the tank for the last few miles which I did faster than planned MP.
I would say that this is really tough if you are racing it but if you are doing it as a steady training run and not concerned about time then it is quite nice. Most people found the last 5km a killer but because I had plodded around I found it OK.
More water and sports drinks/food on the course would have been nice. Bananas at the finish were a nice touch but ripe ones would be better!!! Date of review: February 12, 2007
In short: am very happy to get a PB in my first race since injury In full: a really good race to do for any ability. Fairly flat with just a few inclines. Nice touch to have distance markers at every half mile. Apparently nice scenery but didnt take much notice of it!!! a few downsides 1. My gps said it was 13.2 miles!!!! 2. toilet Qs were massive, I wouldnt mind paying an extra 50p towards more portaloos 3. Only large T shirts, far too big for anyone other than massive people 4. the wondy bit on the grass at the end was akward and since my gps said it was 13.2, could have been cut out. having said that, really enjoyed it and the niggles are just me being picky Date of review: April 9, 2006
