In short: Good varied course, switch off the wind and it'd be Billy Whizz territory. In full: Good organisation, great finish at Musselburgh racecourse. The wind spoiled the seafront bits a little bit - had the race started an hour later I might not have had that face full of sand as I looked out to see but, psychologically, starting at 9 is great - several miles in before other events have started. I think I've cheated by running the new, mostly downhill/flat course, but with a pb, who cares?! Date of review: May 27, 2007

In short: Stadium finish makes the day...week...month In full: Great organisation, and the stadium staff are uniformly fantastically friendly and a credit to Reading. Still too many people starting too far up the field - unavoidable in a mass-participation, perhaps, but surprising given the number of pleas not to. I started in just about the right spot for my time and was passing people the whole way through. Tight corners lead to bunching - not sure how you fix that without an intelligence/spatial awareness injection. But a great run, and I've set a pb in each of the last two years so obviously it agrees with me! Date of review: March 25, 2007

In short: Great organisation, quick course In full: The stadium's a great place to start from - used to catering for the needs of 1000s, so much better than most. Bus transfers totally efficient too, for the same reason, and it's a quick course with just a couple of short hills. Stewards were friendly and amazingly helpful, and running into the stadium at the end - albeit after a long detour *near* the stadium that they could do without - was fantastic. In short: Friendly city and runners! In full: Enjoyed it, good water and lucozade stops - though on both sides would be better (on the left great for us left-handers, mind). Enjoyed the atmosphere, and the organisation was great; I'd do it again. Date of review: March 16, 2005

In short: Good, flat course - slow inclines in the middle to challenge you In full: Boring course, but I love Leeds and live in the South, so even that wasn't altogether a bad thing, just good to see the place again. Good standard at the front, but plenty of beginners. Beware if you're slow, though, as they open the roads pretty sharpish... Date of review: November 29, 2004

In short: Just don't mention the distance... In full: For a first go, excellent. Enjoyed the hills, but the lack of distance marking made the final shout of "1.9k to go" come as a shock, albeit a welcome one. If nothing else, we could have done with a sign at the bottom of that last hill letting us know the finish was at the top! Worth it for adrenalin of the moment when I crested the hill and spotted it, mind. Date of review: October 21, 2004
