In short: A true fun run
In full: Liked the change to the course this year. This is a true fun run with very few elite types who can take things to seriously. I liked the run through the safari park with some really nice views. The marshals did a great job considering that some of the points that they were at were a bit isolated. Those taking part really got into the spirit of things especially the three reindeers who sang all the way around. This is a fun run with limited prizes and long may it stay so. Although a boot bag a free trip around the safari park plus 20% future visits not that bad for a 10k run

In short: Enjoyable
In full: The start was a bit crowded getting onto the pavement but overall a good flat course that gave those chasing PB's a strong chance of success. The location itself has good facilities and the race had a good mixture of speed merchants and social runners at the rear Value for money wise a decent goody bag that made the £9 entry fee worthwhile a decent crowd of people to motivate you along. Will give it a go next yaer

In short: OK
In full: This is a good race for 1st timers with a reasonable flat course, just too many potholes. Think the price is a little steep for a run round Sefton park but the event and organisation is improving just need to sort out some extra portaloos!!!

In short: GREAT RUN
In full: This is an event rather than a race. From Robbo on the bridge doing the pre race annoucements to the final mile along the seafront with the smell of bbq's the Great North is like going for a social jog with your mates.
The 3 minutes for Abide by Me needs to be seen.
Don't enter if you want a PB unless your in with the elite group expect to be bumped have your progress blocked by people running slower than you and to have water sprayed at you by the locals as you run along. This is an expensive race no doubt throw in the over the top hotel prices for this weekend and if you have change of £200 your doing well But the event is fantastic. On saturday I watched batman and robin run in the kids race with Batman as the child and his dad as Robin and watched international athletes sprint along the quayside. This event should be seen as a way of celebrating UK running and the ability of runners to raise millions for charity. As for the weather I'm convinced that Brendan Foster has made a pact with God to make sure it never rains on Great North Day. This was my 9th and they only get better for atomosphere. However the value for money aspect needs looking at as with the running club membership the cost is £50. Not that it will put people off By the way when is next years

In short: Best race on Meresyside
In full: This run has a great course is excellent value brillant organisation and a really friendly atomosphere. This is the best race on Merseyside and importantly all the money goods to a great cause. My only complaint is they only run it once a year
