In short: Great race despite the conditions
In full: Thanks to Bedford Harriers for a very well organised race. Marshals were very enthusiastic which given the conditions was very helpful! Great technical T-shirt (v. good colour), calendar, sports drinks and energy bars at the end, can't ask for more really. Course was definitely undulating...I can't remember many flat bits, it was either up or down! Ankle deep water not ideal, but it was slightly less deep on the second lap. A good confidence booster pre-London.

In short: Excellent PB Potential Race
In full: Enjoyed the race, very flat fast course (though the wind didn't help this year). Encouraging and friendly marshals. I preferred the finish this year to last years one as you could see it coming from a way away. Yum cakes! Excellend medal. Well done GBRC. Will be back again next year.

In short: Flat fast course, good organisation
In full: Had a great race, the course is dead flat, even the 'hill' at 8K that we'd read about wasn't anything massive. Friendly marshals and the bagpiper on the hill was a nice tough. A great way to end the year, and the bottles of beer at the finish were much appreciated.

In short: Definitely undulating but a nice scenic course
In full: Enjoyed the race today, the country lanes made a nice change to the usual Stortford suburbs! It was a bit of a trek to the start and back from the finish, but didn't really bother me. It is a shame however that the race didnt get a certificate, as my club are not recognising PBs as it is not a certificated course. If Stortford could find a 10 mile route in a similar area that missed out the cross-country section then that would be ideal. I didnt mind the off-road bits at all, its just a shame that that means the race doesnt get a certificate.

In short: Good challenging 5 miler around some scenic Essex countryside
In full: All this race lacks is a bit more organisation and a proper race HQ. The marshalls were a bit 'quiet' People were passing each other in in the finishing funnel and not reordered. More use of the recreation ground behind the finish could make things less cramped. A good, scenic but challenging course and a great finshers T-shirt as always

Probably not that beginner friendly.

In short: Fantastic, scenic, friendly, but challenging local 10K
In full: A very well organised event in aid of a village school. The race runs out of the beautiful Henham Village on a 3K loop before heading back out on a trail. This section was challenging, especially in the heat today. A return to road back through the village with masses of local support, then a downhill finish back to the school. Got overtaken by an 11 year old at this point - boy was he fast! A fantastic BBQ, Pimms and beer were then on offer.

In short: Awful weather, great race as usual
In full: I have to agree with other Garmin users, mine read 13.36 miles. I can't believe everyone's would read the course long, we weren't weaving in and out of people THAT much! It was very windy in places (expected) but the short painful hail storm 1 mile in was not good. As for the one on the hour in to a full head wind - Ouch! Organisation was good. Would have appreciated a clock on the 12 mile marker, but I believe some clocks blew down and were damaged. Some signs announcing water stops a few hundred meters before them would be a good addition. We had a really good time and both got PBs and a bargain top in the adidas shop! Will be back again next year.

In short: Flat as a pancake and good organisation
In full: Had a great half marathon, nice and flat on country roads, friendly marshalls, and a very nice medal. Only slight moan is that a few more loos would not go amiss
