In short: Fantastic Race In full: Not one for beginners (although there were a few of those), or a PB (although I got one of those).
I found it quite a tough event, but thoroughly enjoyed it.
Not sure if I'd want to do it again, but I would recommend it to anyone. Date of review: May 19, 2010

Lots for the family to do whilst you plod.
Good support from the locals.
And sooo many prizes.
Well worth a punt. Date of review: May 10, 2010

In short: "Happy Birthday" In full: That's what was against my name at every checkpoint. Thanks to a senior moment I must have mixed up the event date with my D.O.B. Doh! However, it's touches like that which made this event so good. Glorious weather, fantastic scenary and a great atmosphere really made this event special. Thank you to all the organisers and helpers. In short: Good little run In full: Apart from the queue at the start, which kept a few of us waiting for around 20-30mins this was a nice little run along the old Wombourne Railway Line.
Electing to wear new shoes I struggled in the latter stages due to a blister the size of Papua New Quinea, and had to grit my teeth.
Well worth the trip to do. Date of review: April 5, 2010

In short: Muddy Hell In full: Well the rain that we have been experiencing over the past week certainly had an impact, I've never seen such mud.
That said, it is advertised as a muddy race, so you can't really complain !!
Friendly little local race that really deserved more people, very friendly marshalls and a nice low key atmosphere.
Well worth a trip to Warks to do. Date of review: April 3, 2010

In short: Many Thanks Telford Harriers In full: Another faultless performance organising this race.
Thoroughly enjoyed the first 10miles, hit the wall thereafter and struggled but that's my fault.
I'm biased as it's my local race, but I'd recommend this to anyone.

In short: Woo Hoo !! In full: I did this as a walker and loved it.
Was very friendly, well organised and had beautiful scenery.
The marshalls at checkpoints were very friendly and had loads of lovely cake.
If you run it, it's going to be tough. As a walker I took 6hrs 47mins and was very tired at the end.
That said I wouldn't change anything about the race, even the weather was kind.
I can't recommend this highly enough. Date of review: March 14, 2010

2010 Cloud Nine Hill Race

In short: On Cloud 9 In full: An excellent little race that should be more popular.
I made a 140mile round trip to come in close to last, but thoroughly enjoyed it.
Marshalls were excellent, very friendly.
The course itself was very tough going up the cloud, but the coming back down made up for that.
Wish I'd brought some money for the multitude of cakes at the finish (50p each, what a bargin).
Highly recommended. Date of review: March 7, 2010

2010 Shifnal Gallop 10K
 | | Overall score | | 100% | | Would you do it again? | | Yes | | | | Details: | | Scenery | | 80% | | PB potential | | 80% | | Atmosphere | | 100% | | Organisation | | 100% | | Value | | 100% | | Beginner-friendliness | | 100% |
In short: A Nice New Additional to the Running Calendar In full: Organised by the same Race Director responsible for the Shifnal Steeplechase this one looked to be in doubt when I looked out of my window at 7am and saw the snow.
However, a note on the website confirming favourable conditions led me to make the reluctant trip to a cold, but surprisingly snow free Idsall School for this race.
Like it's HM counterpart, this is run in surprisingly pretty scenary up lanes, over fields and back again.
I huffed and I puffed my way round, with shin splints for company, to a nice Free Air Ambulance 'Bag For Life' and some Lucozade goodies from the frozen rep.
Organisation was very good, some friendly, if hypothermic marshal's, and a nice course all for around £6, what more could you ask for ?
Apart from a quicker time. Date of review: January 31, 2010
