In short: Fast, flat and colourful
In full: Fantastic weather made this a fast race this year. Not even a fire alarm at the race HQ could stop things from running smoothly. Great race for both those after a PB and those wanting to dress up as Santa and run for charity.

In short: Up-hill slog followed by rapid descent
In full: Nice atmosphere and free soup and a roll at the end! (More generous than some bigger events.) Climb over the first 4km is compensated by rapid descent back into town. Didn't seem to be any secure bag storage, though.

In short: Slightly frustrating - too narrow in places for so many runners and colour classification system was shambolic.
In full: The colour banding at the start was a shambles. I was placed in the wrong band and spent the first 3 miles struggling to get past walkers. At points there just wasn't enough width for the volume of runners and I was limited to 11 minute miles for the first 2-3 miles. Was able to gain time slightly on the Portway, but a disapointing run. Great crowd, though, but it's all got too big. Needs to be capped at 10 000 enties if not fewer.

In short: Best 10k I've run this year. Inclines not as much of a challenge as you might exepct. quite a fast race, in fact. Good crowd and lovely location.

In short: Hilly, but nothing too demanding. Not a huge number of runners, but good atmosphere.
