In short: Nice flat course, ideal for a PB
In full: apart from about 1k which is on gravel, this course is really quick.

Runners of all abilities and good support from marshalls. Very good water station - the volunteer ran alongside me to minimise spillage - thanks.

No sign of the results online yet though.

In short: Not bad
In full: My first marathon and only two gripes:
No chip timing (but results available already so well done)
The road was fully open on the second lap and at time the cars were a bit too close.

Good atmosphere though and excellent water stations - bottle water a big bonus.

Dull route but not too tough.

Can think of better autumn marathons to do but needed to run this one to qualify for the London Marathon

In short: Nice Friday evening race
In full: Very small, but friendly field (approx 40 entrants) and enjoyable.

Mainly flat course but with one reasonable hill, which of course you get to run down the other side.

Although it was a small event, it was a bit slow in getting the results / presentation sorted.

In short: Excellent local event
In full: Entered on the night and found the whole event excellent.

The course has a challenging climb, made tougher because it's two laps, but it does mean a nice downhill towards the finish.

Pleased with the souvenir glass/tumbler, something different to a medal/t-shirt.

Nothing negative to say

In short: Bit hot for me
In full: As the summary says, this was far too hot for me - had to take a breather about 1.5k from the finish.

Good flat route but rubbly paths make it more difficult. Very nice scenery though.

*ahem* Finish times are incorrect - 20 seconds too quick (I'm not complaining though)

In short: Tough route with nothing to look at
In full: In comparison to the other city half I've done (Liverpool), this was very tough. The hills made it challenging but away from the hills it was a pretty dull route which made it hard to keep going. From 8 miles I felt tired but there was nothing but endless industrial estates.

Having said that, great support up Ecclesall Road & in the stadium at the end. Thanks to the fellow runner who swapped words of encouragement with me to try and get under 1:25, although we just missed out.

Don't think I'll do this next year, but won't rule out a return in future years

In short: Pleased despite the wind
In full: Living in Derby, I've been looking forward to this for ages and was not disappointed. Thought the atmosphere was excellent - lots of the public watching & clapping and finishing in the stadium was brilliant.

Only disappointment was the water at 5k - it was in cups, making it very difficult to actually take on any fluids. Bottles next year please.

In short: Fantastic Spectator Course
In full: Quick note on the organisation, despite the problems with buses & delayed start, the road closure were excellent and the route was incredibly well marshalled.

As the one-liner says, brilliant specator course thanks to the figure of eight type route. Was great to see my partner so many times whilst running.

A very enjoyable race, help thanks to just scraping inside 1hr 30mins.

£17 doesn't get you alot, but I'm guessing it goes towards all those stewards & road closures. No upset there was no t-shirt - I don't like 'em anyway. Nice medal though

Well done to all finishers, see you next year!

In short: Well marshalled
In full: Although I've given organisation a 5, I was a bit disappointed when lining up at the expect finish time 40 minute marker to hear people saying it was 50 mins! Not really the organisers fault and the rest was excellent. Good road closures and more marshalls than I've seen at the other races I've done.

Undulating course with a tiring rise towards the finish, not slow though.

Not alot to look at, apart from a small section at the turning point.

Will be back next year

In short: Wind was tough, but couldn't be helped.
In full: Enjoyed this race, my first 10k. Managed 41:40 but am sure I could have gone sub-40 if it wasn't for the wind.

Good flat out and back course, although the finish was on grass and was very muddy because of the rain.

Bit disappointed with the atmosphere - no support for unattached runners. Heard people shouting for club runners, but no words of encouragement for others that I've experienced elsewhere.
