In short: Cold and windy but worth the trip. In full: Very good race - classy T shirt. My only critism is that of the pacers which are a very good idea however due to the narrowness of the start I found it difficult to pass the 1:30 group until after mile 1. Quite how this dilema could be resolved I don't know (maybe it's my fault for wanting to stop in the warm that little bit longer). Date of review: November 19, 2007

In short: Great fun; good to get a true cross country race. In full: Really enjoyable race although there could be a little more imagination for the man-made obstacles. Good for spectators as the race crosses or goes near the start finish area several times. Different to get a rock as a momento much better than a medal. Thought that the hot soup as well as all the other re-fuelling stuff at the finish was great. Date of review: November 4, 2007

In short: masochistic race In full: A super event; if you intend to enter you need to be aware that you will not encounter a tougher 8 mile race; the hills were aggresive, the obstacles were great fun to have a go at. The race can be viewed by spectators for virtually the whole 8 miles so a good event to take the family to (especially if the weather is as good as this year). One minor criticism was that the entry information stated veteran prizes but there weren't any on the day. Date of review: October 18, 2007

In short: Fantastic fur-clad fun. In full: My first attempt at a run in costume. This run was absolutely brilliant. Good marshalling, good organisation, the chance to do something for a very worthwhile cause. Cannot be compared to standard races that we all do week in - week out, it needs to stand alone in it's own right. Long may this event continue to raise money and awareness of the issues facing these great apes. Date of review: September 24, 2007

In short: Continuous hills throughout - deceptively tough course. In full: Well organised with good marshalling and a good base, plenty of parking and toilets. The course despite not having a renouned landmark hill is tough enough to make most people not think of a PB. Roads/lanes are quiet and the course has a safe start and finish. In short: Loads of mud and hills and mud and hills then some more mud and hill In full: Really good race - well organised, be prepared to get wet and muddy. Date of review: April 30, 2007

In short: Wallow in that mud! In full: Excellent race - well organised although the car-parking organisation was a little poor and on a wet day could have been a major problem. Probably the most bizarre start to a race I've witnessed; the single file trails reduced the ability to overtake although plenty of competitors found me easy to pass in the latter stages. Top event one to add to my regular diary. Date of review: October 31, 2006

In short: Great day out - I love racing in front of lions licking their lips! In full: This race is an excellent - one for begineers and it gives average to good club runners the chance to finish high up in a big field. The scenery is excellent and that's without the charging deer, the bison and of course the hungary lions! The race by itself is not good value as you only get a medal and drink for finishing but when you add the £4 entry to all accompanying spectators then it becomes a brilliant day-out enabling the non-running family a chance to follow and support you and then have a great time in the safari park. In short: Good 1st time effort - race has the potential to improve. In full: Well organised small and friendly race; the section along Spectacle Lane is very uneven and could create problems for runners with weak ankles. Date of review: September 24, 2006

In short: Wet - cold - muddy - brilliant In full: Do I get the record for putting in the latest review? My third Grizzly but my best performance in some of the worst conditions. Yet another cult t-shirt to add to my collection. The wind and the mud was endless but adds to the kudos of this event. Can't wait till next year. Date of review: August 25, 2006
