In short: More challenging course than you'd think In full: Well organised, good to see chip timing spreading it's fingers further across the racing spectrum, good mix of runners including a few fast ones - Pretty tough course, hard first few km then it levelled out a little.
Nice medal and bag for the money, well done 2.09 events. Date of review: June 30, 2010

In short: My Club's Run - Must say good things! In full: Well, a lovely evening for a make-you-puff jaunt around Bracknell Forest, great scenery and atmosphere
Our marshalls were a little quiet, along with the announcer, but otherwise a challenging hard course, not one for the PBs.. but one to return for.. Date of review: June 17, 2010

In short: Great race, with a few pointers to brush up on In full: Had to eventually do this race - It's the better half's home town race.
Wow was it hot - I've never been hit so hard byt the heat on a 10k, but 2 water stations - with BOTTLES! well done on that for a small race - thank god to not see so many plastic cups
But, the start area is poor - there wasn't much build up after the announcer banged on about the major running, then a 'GO' out of nowhere, then we had to squeeze through a bit of a bottleneck.
Couldn't understand why chips weren't posted out with numbers? and the numbers should have had some kind of emergency number space - I wrote my number on it anyways.
I went a visited the timing station after, and I *SWEAR* my garmin said I was 14 seconds quicker than the chip time, and the runner next to me had the same issue with around a 14 second discrepancy.
Apart from that, a technical T shirt, banana and bag were nice - No medal but sometimes that's life I guess.
I'll be back, but I'd love it to be earlier in the day or earlier in the year - This race hurt due to the temperature twinned with lots of dusty gravel. Date of review: June 13, 2010

In short: Pros and Cons rule this race In full: Second running of this race, and it pulls me to and fro what to say
Pro - Local 10k - Good Cause - Free Tea / Coffee for runners - Goody bag with choc. bar, apple, lucozade and medal - Relatively good mashalling
Cons - Lack of organisation, had runners come up and ask me where start line was - Mass wide start line leading towards bottleneck - Some really, really narrow pavements - Was shunted into the (not closed) road by a stupidly placed water station
I might be back, we shall see. Date of review: May 17, 2010

In short: Good scenery, pity the organisers. In full: Pros
* Lovely bit of shiny, liked the medal * Lots of drink stations - I didn't use them, but there were lots * Good atmosphere, thank you crowds * Good marshalling * Goody bag and tshirt always make me happy
Cons
* Don't funnel runners slowly through a wind tunnel behind the Rec ground * How you expect to get 16000 people down one side of a road I'll never quite know, I was picking my way through runners until the finish line * Cones have a habit of popping up a lot, had to straddle jump one * I wasn't sure if the green start had timing pens, but if it did, I didn't see them * IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE A NO IPOD RACE THEN PULL THEM OUT OF THE BLOODY RACE! In short: My home town Half, a tad rainy but good In full: Set a good time, could have done with more toilets and a bit less mud, and the baggage tent was a little dodgy in terms of staffing, but a great course and good marshalls. Date of review: February 22, 2010

In short: Nice tour of Bris In full: Well, Had to run it due to being the other half's home town, and it was anew challenge - the long pull up under the suspension bridge was quite tiring, and a few cobbles with a couple of k to go really made it hard, but the support was great, lots of drinks, made it a good day - could have done with more organisation on getting into the pens, but that's my only gripe, lots of goodies and a nice medal. In short: A race of pros and cons In full: Ok, pros of this race
- Cheap, only £6 I think, or maybe £8 - Well marshalled, not the most talkative of marshalls but they did the job - Interesting course - You got just a number posted out, not even a map or on-the-day instructions
Cons
- Awful signposting - Had to talk to other runners lost in their cars before luckily tripping over the carpark - 1 toilet for 400 people - If you're into that kind of thing, you didn't get a piece of shiny or anything, just a glass of water at the end - No distance markers
It had some right hard hills that really took some beating, and some of the single track was good, but there was a really long run of it, meaning you couldn't really overtake or slow down, which is a bit disconcerting.
I'd do it again, just to see if I'd improved on the hills. Date of review: July 30, 2009
