In short: A scenic course, not without it's ups and downs
In full: I was brought up within a mile of this course, so was well aware that this area is a lot different from the flat fens. Good marshalls and organisation, most years that country kilometre would be baked clay. Didn't see any T-shirts though.

In short: Tough with superb scenary and organisation
In full: It was a wonderful course, the organisation was superb, the marshalls cheerful & encouraging, and they even organised the weather to be nigh-on perfect. Marhalls almost outnumbered runners.
Hopefully, next year you will get a few more entries ..... you certainly deserve them.

In short: Magnificent scenary. I chose it for my 50th marathon, as I've loved the Langdale area for 40 years or so. It took me 4:30, and I've never before been over 4 hrs on the road.
In full: I drove around the day before, and expecting about 3 big rises per lap (having browsed the 1:50000 O.S. map), was somewhat in a state of shock to count 26 ups, 4 of them really serious at around 25%....and that was on just one lap.

In short: A good mix of open countryside & tree-covered stretches, flat and undulating (OK hilly), combined with excellent feed stations, and food at the finish, made for a wonderful day. Thank you.

In short: A cracking half.
In full: Hills, yes, but the views were glorious once you got up there, and what goes up must come down..Hot, certainly, but the beauty of an evening race is that the temperature will drop as the run goes on, and that first mile hill was at least beautiful & shady. Treat the run as a good training event and you will enjoy it no end.

In short: Nice to be on traffic-free paths.
In full: The wind wasn't so bad, behind at start & finish, against in the middle where we were a little sheltered by hedges. Course good, results prompt easy parking.

In short: Good scenery necessitating a lot of climbing;my E.Anglian upbringing was sorely tested
In full: Although reduced to a walk after half a mile, the downhills sections started to catch up the uphill ones, and you could begin to enjoy the run and the views, especially looking right down on Cheltenham and its famous racecourse. The tithe barn provided one of the more rustic settings for changing/tea room.
Do have a cake at the end.

In short: Fantastic scenary, but very tough, especially in the near-gale-force conditions. Trails of grass, mud, rock, and a bit of sand. Not a running vest in sight as everyone is necessarily togged up to the nines. Friendly support from the drink stations.
