In short: A fun two lap 10k In full: The scouts and BVRunner did an excellent job of organising this low key event. From the friendly welcome at registration to the bacon butties at the end, everything went smoothly. The course climbs for at least the first half of each lap, but nothing too brutal, follwoed by a long decent back to the finish. Lapping the walkers meant there was support on the second lap, and I had no problem passing them (even those with buggies) on the twisty narrow paths through the woods. Low key local event - makes a nice change from the usual 'must pb' club races. Recommended Date of review: May 18, 2011

In short: Almost hilly, but still remarkably fast In full: The organisation was flawless. Registration on the day took less than 5 minutes, despite lengthy queues. Well manned water stations in all the right places. More marshals than you could (or should) wave a large stick at. The course is on the verge of being hilly - its certainly rarely flat, But that made it interesting. Would recommend this one to everyone who likes a challenge. Date of review: May 8, 2011

In short: Fast and flat course, on road and trail In full: Well organised, plentiful free parking. Short toilet queues, and a friendly atmosphere in the event village. Lapping the business park helped to establish a reasonable pace for the conditions before heading out on the larger loop. Plentiful marshals and water on most of the route - I missed the unofficial water station at 8 miles. Maybe the organisers could rope these friendly folk in to the event for next year as I was struggling at this point. Nice to finish back into the business park as the familiar route allowed you to judge a strong finish. Wouldnt hesitate to run this one again, hopefully in more seasonal weather. On a cooler day it would surprise me if everyone didnt PB. Date of review: April 24, 2011

In short: First DNF for me. In full: Not my day for this one, and jacked it in after the first loop (just too tempting). Scenary not the best, at least around Fleet town. Would probably have enjoyed the loop out into the country mor. The start was congested - not the organisers fault, just the usual hopefuls pushing to the front and ignoring the timing banners, though after 2 surges before the start I think Id moved from 1:40 to 1:15 in the crowd. Lots of turns in the first 2 miles, combined with slow runners made it difficult to hit a steady pace. Would probably come back next year for another crack as its local, but wish Id gone to Hastings. (Its better, honest) Date of review: March 23, 2011

In short: Certainly lived up to its name In full: A good first running of this event. Everything flowed smoothly, from registration to the prompt start. The first half of the course was mildly challenging, nothing you wont have seen if you raced on MOD land before, but the second half was were the brutality kicked in. Just when you thought the harsh sandy climbs were done, there were more sapping sand climbs before a blessed decent to the finish. Did I mention the water hazards? Theres nothing quite like exiting freezing waist deep water before plunging down a steep decent when you cant feel your feet. Exhilarating to say the least. There was even a decent clothing store on site selling everything you could need both pre and post race at very reasonable prices. Would recommend to those who are looking for a real tough challenge. Thanks to the organisers and marshals, roll on the G3 Date of review: January 3, 2011

In short: A great end to the year In full: Lucky with the weather for a late half marathon. Course is not that inspiring, but I liked running past the HoverSpeed factory, took my mind off the pain! Flat and fast, and very well marshalled. Give it a try, you might like it Date of review: November 21, 2010

In short: A lovely autumn run out across challenging terrain. In full: Nice to have the sun shining for this trail run. Slightly longer than the advertised 10k, but better to finish near the car park than at the start like last year. Well done to the marshals/organisers, I'll be back next year.. As for the dogs, I had more problems with ipod wearers, but then thats often the case.. Date of review: November 7, 2010
