In full: This is a small well orgaised local race, at 4 miles & the 2pm start time its well worth a visit. Traffic & parking are a problem but if you arrive early this is a race with a nice village feel. only a handfull of club vests so you wont feel intimidated, would run this one again.. In full: Ran all three races this year, enjoyed the event very much. One small point the wearing of headphones was a real problem for the lead runners at burgess hill. A multi lap race means most runners will be lapped sometime, and so most are aware of faster runners approaching from behind. The lead runners should'nt have to weave around people jogging along oblivous to everything. It is clear just asking people not to wear headphones does not work.
In full: Ran the 10 mile race, muddy as expected and quite hard going. worth giving this race a try as it is well run and has a good mix of runners. will run the next race in October.. Date of review: April 27, 2014
In full: I like this race very much and look forward to it every year. I like a medal at the finish, but would still do it again as it is a nice buzz & a great start to summer & running longer distances. will be back in 2015.. Date of review: April 19, 2014
In full: the hill is steep, but this is a good race with various surfaces and more down hill than up. A warm dry day, ground quite hard. This is a good test & a fun event. Would run again in 2015.. Date of review: April 13, 2014
In full: nice venue, friendly marshal's . you pass through about a dozen kissing gates on route so not a pb race, but this was a good race and a good cause. enjoyed the run and would run it again. Date of review: April 6, 2014
In full: I would say more undulating than flat, but not a problem. first really warm day this year, but it did make it less of a slog. the marshals were great,as were the people at the water stations. would run again in 2015..
In full: A lot of half marathons this weekend, but not enough training so settled for this race. more challenging that the average park run,but well worth doing. lots of ups and downs, testing but not hilly. brockwell park is very nice and runner friendly. marshal's were great, try this one in 2015.. In full: You turn up pay your money and run, no frills no fuss and that suits me just fine. The last quater mile was round a very muddy field with deep puddles so you couldn't coast into the finish you had to slog all the way to the line. this is a good testing race and i would run again in 2015...
