In short: Good organisation, over chatty PA, enjoyable run In full: I grossly overestimated the time it would take to get to Splatfield so was very early (9.15!) and had no problems parking, then didn't stick around once finished so no problem leaving. Without those stresses I found the whole thing enjoyable and well organised, though the lack of a bag drop was a little perverse (albeit okay for me as was parked right at the front!). Could live without the bloke on the PA chuntering, promising everything "very very shortly" every few minutes, but enjoyed the course and atmosphere, especially all the "in memory of" and "in celebration of" notices. But a word to the wise - running the day after an all-day-drinking stag do is not the best thing in the world... Date of review: October 15, 2004

In short: Not *that* scenic but worth it for the large race atmosphere Date of review: September 3, 2004

In short: Smooth and flat course, spoiled for speed only by crosswind In full: Great organisation, a good atmosphere and an interesting spot - not exactly scenic, but interesting to see the rowing lake (and, ahem, disparity between private and public education!), and a real collection of runners fast and slow. The looping course was well set-out from that point of view, as those of us in the middle of the race could always see those at the front whilst thinking "phew, glad I'm not back there" at those behind.
