In short: Killer wind & hill for last couple of miles
In full: Credit to the organisers for asking for constructive feedback. Problem with lack of cups at water station. Should have been advertised as a road shoe race. Lack of directions to HQ. Basic errors yes but sinple to correct for next time around. A good tough workout, especially towards the end. With a slight detour or extension of start/finish this would be a challenging half marathon

In short: Different but worth it
In full: A good fun short charity run. Santa on the severn bridge a site to behold. As I am on the english side of the bridge I didn't have to pay the toll. As it's a charity run it would be nice if the severn bridge management could do something regarding the tolls for charity runners. Nice touch having the free bus back although a lot of people (I assume us distance runners) decided to run back again

In short: As happy as a pig in ****
In full: A shorter Sodbury slog but with more obstacles thrown in. Organisation was if they had been doing it for years so hats off to runaround sports & top barn for that. Mix of everything & lots of smiling faces. I was thinking the obstacle cousre at the beginning was short & was expecting it to be straight forward after. I was wrong there. Well done all

In short: PB course when not windy. No more, no less
In full: I have given the PB 100% as this is what it would be on a calm day. Strange but strangely enjoyable running round a race track (OK - who had car noises in their head) Yes it could be boring but it's only 3 laps, Would be far worse on a shorter circuit. Minor gripe - Chip collection could have had a few more helping hands although they did vary registration times to keep queues down. 1 toilet block open was a joke. Iwas led to believe that another one did open later. In all fairness I will hold back on my judgement of the organisers for this as this may have been the responsibility of the race track owners. Were they aware of numbers involved?

In short: Concerns about route change - Needn't have worried
In full: A regular on this race so don't know what else to add. Yes I missed the river from last year but was glad to see adequate alternatives were found, A few hidden surprises. Glad to see a slighty different challenge

In short: A good mix of terrain & very scenic
In full: Stunning views make this tough race worthwhile. Nice early Saturday start so still the rest of the weekend to enjoy. If you are after a PB or an easy run forget it. If you like a challenge with some great views & friendly marshalls this is for you

In short: Tough - But we all knew that.... didn't we
In full: At 17 miles I was regretting this but soon changed my mind once we got back through the Eden gateway. Looked at the profile prior to the race & thought the 2nd half was flatter which would help with the tiredness. How wrong I was. 1st half seemed to have the climbs over within 2 or 3 short bursts, 2nd half started either downhill of flat & then the undulations kicked in, a huge, huge test for everyone. A couple of very minor issues which would be sorted with ease. Only a small amount of toilets at the registration area seemed to cause a panic with runners unaware that there were more at the start line, Not sure if people were aware of the Eden bus that goes around the site all day, Would have gone down and supported the fun run at 9:30 if I was aware the bus was running at the time as Eden doesn't officially open until 10. Didn't fancy the walk down & back up prior to running. Thought bus back to car parks was well signed & verbally confirmed. In short I think all the minor issues that people have raised would have been sorted with a bit more signage/announcements. Unsure what can really be done about spectators having to pay to get to the finish line apart from having limited Eden access on the day. Pasty, beer & massage all very well received, Stunning medal & t-shirt. Good to see that they were different for both races, Been to some races before when mementos have just been issued in bulk and everyone gets the same regardless of race distance. All in all organisation was on a par with some races that have been running for a few years. Wasn't expecting perfect organisation but a superb effort for the first running of Eden. One for the calendar for sure.

In short: Good undulating course
In full: Charming 10m race. Good mix of abilities. An undulating course with an early and late hill to climb with a nice gentle downhill shortly before the finish

In short: One of the best
In full: Stunning views. A flat first couple of miles then some stiff climbs into the Black Moutains before a fast 5k downhill finish. A low key event but excellent support from marshalls & the odd supporter followed by t-shirt, tea & cake. I have done 50+ different races & this is very possibly my favourite

In short: Will they learn from their mistakes
In full: 2007 - Almost went the wrong way. 2008 - Didn't do but read that people went the wrong way. 2009 - Mistakes rectified - No Chance. Such a shame as this is a nice evening scenic race with a friendly feel to it. In fairness to the marshall who probably got some stick it wasn't her fault that the next marshall was nowhere to be seen. Front of field went the wrong way & others followed. By this point the followers had already gone beyond the point where the marshall turned up & ended up doing closer to 7.5 miles. I was lucky & only done an extra 1k as I decided not to follow & do a lap of the 5k field until the marshall turned up to open the gate.

Please, please sort this out. I personally will not be doing this one again, appreciate errors occur but after the previous year this should have been foremost in the organisers concern. I do hope that newcomers next year will not get the same issues & come back year after year as it has real potential
