In short: Could become a good 5K event - shame about the rain.
In full: I think the weather spoilt this event today but the organisers can't control that. There is definite PB potential in this race with only 1 repeated short climb. Km markers were missing which would have aided runners looking for a time. The location (Mallory race track) is good making the vast majority of the race traffic free there is a fair amount of parking and plenty of toilets. The T-shirt and medal were both good quality making it value for money. I'm sure that there is potential for Hinckley to make this race as good as their half-marathon.

In short: Good race well organised.
In full: Very good race over a slightly undulating to flat course. Doesn't make it a pure speed course due to the time of year and time of race. The race H/Q was excellent and kept the family well entertained while I was pounding the tarmac. I thought that the organisation was good. The goody bag - in my case a pair of Thorlos made the race gool VFM.

In short: Well organised and good value.
In full: Very tough run shame that more runners don't take this race on. It would be nice to have some company other than the sheep. Dic Evans and his team do a great job in putting on this race and obtaining enough event sponsorship to send virtually everyone away with some sort of prize.

The scenary is particulary beautiful.

In short: Top race
In full: It might be my clubs event but I'd recommend this to anyone. Not the fastest half-marathon but fast races aren't everything.

In short: Friendly, PB potential course.
In full: Thought the event was good and is now getting the popularity it deserves; however I wouldn't want to see it grow much more.

In short: Classic MT race.
In full: Great fun even if the frost prevented the usual amount of mud.

In short: Perhaps it's just me.......
In full: I've skimmed through the other reviews and it seems that no-one noticed the lack of buses to get childrens fun run entrants to the start of the race in time. Or that the start time of the half-marathon was delayed and held up (in my case I think that this contributed to injury).

I don't turn up at races to hear all those who have sponsored the event mentioned, (that's what the t-shirts for) judging by the noises around me neither does anyone-else. I also know how good exercise is for me that's why I do it!!!

I for one won't be back.

In short: Well organised except for the weather and mile markings.
In full: Personnally I had a nightmare. The twists & turns on the course as well as the inclines to cross roads make the course more challenging than you think, difficult to get a good consistant stride pattern.
The mile markings were questionable, and non-existant at 2 & 3 miles.

In short: One of my favorite midweek events.
In full: Darn good race - I think that the hill between 5 and 6 miles gets longer every year. Well done Wreake Runners.

In short: Good for a runner searching for a PB.
In full: Traffic free - wide track. A few to many turns for pure runners - the sort of course triathletes love!!
