In short: Excellent organisation, very friendly run. Not so keen on the second half. In full: Pretty good race. The marshalling was fantastic. The second half of the marathon was pretty tough because the field thinned out so much. Second half was very flat though - apart from the killer incline (well it killed me) at 25 miles. In short: Excellent race. Amazed that the organisers pulled it off after the floods. In full: This was a fantastic route. Flat with some excellent views of the Thames that you don't get to see driving around or running on the road. I really liked not doing a circuit and thought the buses and baggage etc. were very well planned out. I have never been on similar sized race which had such excellent facilities.
I know one or two of the marshals were a bit rubbish but the majority of them did a brilliant job.
I also really liked the hill start! Date of review: July 30, 2007

In short: Should be a perfect 10k for speed being so flat. In full: It's flat and fast. The rain was heavy at times but I preferred that to the extreme heat we had last year. Very well organised, lots of toilets, great goody bag, nice medal. Date of review: July 2, 2007

In short: Raining, muddy and hilly - brilliant! In full: This is a great course. Uphill and downhill all the way. Not so steep that you couldn't take advantage of the downhills and no need to kill yourself on the uphill sections. Date of review: June 25, 2007

In short: Excellent new route, well organised and the weather was kinder than usual In full: The new route is excellent, a massive improvement. There were no choke points, the views were excellent and the hills made it interesting. Far better than the long hot slog to Redbourn and back of the previous course. Marshalls were excellent and there was loads and loads of water. Nice ice lolly at the end! Date of review: June 10, 2007

In short: With free parking and entry to the zoo this was the first time entering a race has saved me money! In full: Not only was this race great value (if fancy going round the zoo) but it was an excellent experience. On the second lap round we disturbed a kangaroo thing which went bounding away. Nice change from my usual route where I might expect nothing more exotic than a few rabbits. The course was traffic free (least when I went round) and beautifully quiet. I liked the early start as well. Well organised and friendly. Date of review: June 4, 2007

In short: Good course, enough up and down to make it interesting In full: A small friendly race. The marshalls were excellent as usual. Was a bit tight at the start. Date of review: May 21, 2007

In short: Great course and friendly atmosphere that rainy day could not spoil. In full: This is a great course. There are plently of short hill streches but you are always rewarded with a downhill section straight away. The rain made going difficult (even flooded in places) but that just added to the fun.
The marshals were brilliant as usual, especilly given that they were spending their bank holiday monday standing around in the rain. My son entered for the junior 1k with only minutes (literally) to go and everybody made a big effort to get him sorted and to the starting line. This was very much appreciated.
Only downside for me was the congested start as usual and I am sure that some of the km markers were out of position. Date of review: May 7, 2007

In short: Fantastic scenery, brilliant camaraderie and well organised. In full: As we ran the first mile and I looked up at a great big mountain towering over us I knew this was going to be something special.
The course was great. I had thought that running back on the same route and having to go past everybody who was ahead going the other way would be demoralising but in fact it was really good.
There seemed to be far more hills on the return leg! But whilst it wasn't pancake flat it isn't a hilly course.
A big thankyou to the organisers and the other runners who made this a great experience. Date of review: April 22, 2007

In short: Bit slow at the start but flat and well marshalled In full: The start was a bit of a crush but after going round the business park once it sped up. Lots of parking this year and the marshalls were great. For once I didn't need the toilet at the start and I was counting my blessings, the runner : loo ratio was very poor. Loads of people had to go for a wee in the bushes at the start which can't have been popular with the owners of the site. Date of review: April 10, 2007
