In short: what a brilliantly organised race
In full: this race is a model of how a fairly boring, around the town, little 10k race can be made special by the organisers getting it so right. Southend please note!!

In short: nice flat course, needs better marshalling.
In full: Course had some really nice bits, park, castle, but needed better routing marshalling at the turnround in the docks. And as for bringing you back to within shouting distance of the stadium at 22 miles only to turn away was really cruel, I've never been more tempted to rip off my number and say s*d it. but hey, its all forgotten now.
"Goody bags" lot of thought went into them, but not much in the way of goodies, and why did we have to wander round looking for finishing stuff? most races manage to hand it out in the funnels, which ensures ONE goody bag, with T shirt inside it per runner!
Although I loved the Stadium perhaps its not really suitable for a crowded finish, I should think the halfers found it really congested at times, but overall I was really pleased I did it and would happily come back.

In short: More ups than downs, lots of mud, now thats a run!
In full: A really hard 10 miler, very hilly but you know you've had a good run when you finish this one. Not quite sure what happened to the T-shirts though.

In short: New course a bit dull, hill at 11 really unpleasant in the heat, earlier start please!
In full: Nice run, lovely atmosphere, pity the course is dull and for those who have run the old course the last 2 miles plus hill are a real shock to the system.
Nice to have so many drink stations but an earlier start and more shady course would make this a great run.

In short: usual 4 lap course, some hate it, I like it, 5 miles never seems that long except on the final circuit. A strange course that seems more downhill than uphill, which is impossible I know, but thats always the way it seems to me.

In short: Great run, if the weather's fine, can be bleak if its bad. Good organisation, but that car park was a trek! A perennial complaint, WHY NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY?

In short: start a long cold way from a warm venue, catches a lot out, then a mickey mouse 1st and last mile, but a pleasant run in the middle
