In short: obviously a charity run, so, for club runners - make allowances! In full: Nice enough run, v. flat, and good atmosphere. From a personal point of view, earlier start please, have the start sectioned by times, preferably putting all people with earphones at back of the field!
In short: Hard run, but good weather made it easier than it has been in the past In full: Thx Yaxley, as usual a well organised/marshalled race where you minimise the problems associated with the venue, parking, showers, etc and maximise the bits you can do something about, i.e the shuttle service. Puts a lot of other races with better facilities to shame! Run itself is a good one, a hard 15 that you feel is a good one to finish! Date of review: January 18, 2009
In short: good race, well organised In full: considering its held in december a pleasant run, very like St. Albans as regards scenery/course, but not boiling hot! Sweater a very nice touch, makes a change from usual T-shirt and kept me good and warm on long walk back to the car. Date of review: December 15, 2008
In short: What a Great run - a must for any runner who likes x/c In full: Just a fantastic run, not easy, and certainly very wet, tho the weather was fine, the Bog of Doom and the river were much deeper than I'd been led to believe - Hurra. Just wish I'd thought of taking a disposible bbq to while away the hours waiting to get out of the carpark. Date of review: November 16, 2008
In short: nice run, could be better In full: Done this run a few times, shame about the 1st half which is along that busy road, but 2nd half makes up for it, very pleasant. I think the venue needs a rethink, or smaller entry, 1 toilet and a few portaloos was obviously not enough judging by the number of runners watering Maidstone, which is never a good advert for us! Plus no showers and a rather tired venue just makes this into a rather average run, sorry Maidstone. Date of review: October 20, 2008
In short: charming race from a lovely village- well done Manuden In full: shame about the weather, but at least it wasnt hot, and for those who brought a towel and dry clothing no real problem. Much better venue and the hot food and drinks much appreciated. As to the race itself, 1st 3k up means last 3k down, hurra for a "thereandbackagain" and an easy finish!! In short: Muddier than ever b4, and I'm sure the miles r getting longer! In full: Just a great run, great organisation, can't think of a thing to say against it, and I have been known to complain about certain other events, but never this one.
In short: much improved course, can we keep this 1 please!! In full: The last few St Albans Ive done have been notable for there and back courses with no shade, plus a really grim finish, big hills in the last 3 miles. By doing the "hard" bit first that last downhill mile was a godsend - Thanks whover thought of that 1.
Otherwise typical St Albans, blazing hot day and a rollercoaster of a course but compared with what we used to run, really rural and pleasant Date of review: June 8, 2008
