In short: What happened?
In full: Bit disappointed as write-up had said that the 6mile (approx) course had been extended this year but my garmin clocked 4.6 which wasn't even close - i know MT are approx but.....and was it just me or were the 100 steps missing too? Could have done with a hose to rinse off worst of the clag b4 entering the showers

In short: O M G !!
In full: well i knew it was going to be tough but blooming hell!. Thanx to all the wonderful marshalls especially the one at 8.75 (at the top of the north face of the eiger haha). Really cheerful and kept me going. Surprised i didn't go head over heels at the finish with trashed quads. Brilliant day. Well done hogweeds. One race for everyones diary - you'll love (and hate) it

In short: Bloody hell!
In full: 4th time for me - 1st wet, 2nd dry, 3rd with a back pack. this time much more mud (even than I remember on the first one!)and I'm sure those ruddy hills get steeper every year!!. Brilliant as ever. Thanx to ALL concerned. What a difference to my half last week. But will someone remind me WHY I volunteer to do it :-)

In short: Oh dear!
In full: Like mentioned earlier good marshalling and water stops but probably the worst HM I have attended in 5yrs of running. Not particularly interested in a goodie bag but Something! would have been nice (gel/energy bar). The race hooter went as I saw crowds filtering down to the start from the toilets/baggage/changing. As it was the 25th anniversary I thought that the T shirt would have been included in the price(Bracknell HM last year was far better).. And I know the weather can be unpredictable but everyone had to negotiate a 'bog' before changing and thus carryed all the crap into the changing rooms. not good - the marquee for baggage would have been better on hard standing. Good course for a PB is all I can add apart from that I wont be back!

In short: Done it at last
In full: Although I live fairly local, first time of doing this. I have thought previously that it was over-priced but with the goodies and a very good medal i've changed my mind! (I think the organisers were trying to be eco friendly on the carrier bag side - there's no pleasing eveyone. Great course. I felt sorry for anyone who didn't know about the 'inclines' :-). But a great day out. Nowhere near a PB but one of those races thst give you a great sense of 'I've done it'. Definately one for the 2011 calender

In short: Back again
In full: Missed this much-loved race last year as I was out of the Country. But back again this year and all the reasons that I love this run came flooding back. Worried that it might not go ahead due to the weather (like the rough and tumble recently). A really great race that gives a massive sense of achievement when you cross the line

In short: Nice day....for ducks!
In full: First time of entering and wasn't disappointed even by the 10minute long cloud burst at 8 miles. Echo everything thats been said. And a BIG BIG thankyou to all the marshalls - I attempted to thank each and every one as I went around as I hope you all did considering the weather. To stand out there in that weather, they deserve a medal too...or even a stiff scotch!

In short: Good job it wasn't raining afterwards!!
In full: Agree with previous remarks. Time to finish 1:30 time waiting for bag 1:00. Sorry but not good enough. I had a tshirt from my wife and I was shivering and didn't do stretching regime any good either(4000 numbers in our marquee and only 2000 in the one next door!!) Argy bargy at sharp corners so no more numbers needed. switch-backs were a killer. I hate powerade too... and couldn't really pour THAT over my head to cool me down either. also didn't see drinks before 5 but maybe that was my error. Not worth the 5.30am rise to get there and wont bother again
