In short: A lovely race
In full: Its always really hot on race day for this one. Definitely plan your Barbie for the same day! Its a lovely race with cheery marshalls and strangely a security guard who steps out of his building to cheer everyone on. Its for a worthwhile course and although tough, very enjoyable

In short: A very nice way to spend a Friday evening
In full: But why does the race always feel so hard? Its flat, nice to look at, great marshalls, lots of people to run with, friendly. It should be a walk in the park and yet every runner I spoke to always says the same!
Nevertheless, cooler temperatures meant a nicer experience this year.

In short: A fabulous race!
In full: A trail race in the forest with so many fallen logs it was almost like running the Grand National. It rained like billy-o making the course a tad slippery but lovely to run in after cloggy heat. We all got back covered in mud with smiley faces (a good sign) but very undulating making for a very slow time so not for those who only like road running with PB potential

In short: Nice evening race
In full: Yep, the hills were there but most were of a gentlish grade to be able to plod up. The lack of talking at the back of the field emphasised that! Well marshalled, nice route leading to a very pleasant summer evening run

In short: Never again..... until the next time
In full: This is a special race but boy was it hard this year! The changes made to the course definitely made for the hardest half... Got lost but that was my own fault, I should have been watching where I was going. The marshalls and other competitors no doubt make this the friendliest halfs in Britain. This is a superb race but make sure you train for it before attempting otherwise you are in for a difficult time

In short: Nice friendly little race - great for first timers
In full: Nice touches on race day were tea (for fending off the chilly wind) and the races for the kids. One major grump from my (faster) other half was the lack of marshalls. He got lost along with the leaders at couple of times, not great for either an accurate time or motivation! Problems were sorted by the time I got there which meant my experience was a lot more pleasant than his. Nice little trail course with hills which made it interesting
