In short: Excellent Race
In full: Be back next year. Hopefully be a bit drier, then we'll be moaning about the heat. Don't you just love British summer's.

In short: Superb off-road race with stunning scenery and excellent organisation
In full: Another great Gibbet race and as the sun was out the views over Berkshire and Hampshire were stunning. Great to do a point to point run. Didn't personally have a great run due to recurrence of an old injury but I'll be back next year.

In full: Another year another excellent race, PB again - bliss, well organised traffic free course, good value, T shirt, spot prizes, good facilities. Ticks all the right boxes. Be back next year, another PB?

In short: Good Race, but the facilities are too primitive
In full: Whilst this is a good course, well organised and the marshalls did their utmost to keep the runners spirits up on a dreadful day this event has some serious downsides. The facilities at the event are non-existent, there are no changing facilities, no showers and minimal loos which for a Hampshire Road Race League fixture is unacceptable, especially when you consider what other clubs put on for the same price. I've done this race for several years ,enjoy it and will support it in the future but it's got too big for tents in a boggy field to be acceptable.

In short: Good well organised 10k
In full: Heard that this was a fast 10k, and as it was HRRL decided to go for it even though day after HXCL fixture - Hants can't you sort out these double headers. Two starts this year, > and < 40 mins and as my PB was just over 40 mins I was at the front of the start a PB to be gained. Excellent course, well marshelled, good facilities, etc., etc.

Oh my PB, Reading the day before sapped my stength and I failed to break 40 mins, bring on Eastleigh 10.

In short: Enjoyable but hard 10k with three testing climbs
In full: Race has only been going two years and this year it was in the Hampshire Road Race League with triple the competitors. This showed up some shotcomings especially in miles 1 -3 when the race was down the main Brading Road. Heavy traffic, few marshalls and no police is not a good combination. After mile 3 a very scenic and well organised race, though the hill at Mile 8 saps the last out of you. Nice facilities and I'd definitely do it again.

In short: Better than last year, but still could do better
In full: Course back to the three laps of basically the town centre and the cathedral so very tight and twisty and virtually no chance of a PB. Given the nature of the course, good marshalling is essential - they turned up about 10 seconds before the start, average age about 14. Given the effort local clubs make in doing risk assessments and briefing marshals for the Hampshire Road Race League Events it does pall a bit - then it is a commercial event so everything costs money. However, given all its faults I do like it and it does apparently raise money for "charity". Perhaps Winchester AC could take it over and organise it properly?

In short: Fabulous Race, but my God does it hurt
In full: This is a great race, but hard, I keep on forgetting how many hills there and how steep they are. However, brilliantly organised and big thanks to all the marshalls. Every event should aspire to be as good as this.
