In short: Not bad, but could do better. In full: Alright, so it's the start of the race and the organisers will get better in years to come.
Lack of marshals on the course itself, really crappy gift bag at the end, no first aiders that I could see.
On the plus side ...
Friendly, the start was well organised and the marshals that were there were very encouraging.
I just wish some of the Chavs and the wierd BNP / Nazi guy with tourettes (walked straight past me, waited a few minutes them hurled a load of verbal abuse at me - freak) walking along with his radio would have fecked off for the day.
So on the whole not bad, and maybe I would do it again. Date of review: July 5, 2008
In short: When they said "Hilly ..... !" In full: Touching tribute to former organiser Steve Humphries at the start and on the T'Shirt added a poignancy to this race.
Beautiful scenary, but my god those hills were tough. However, the amusing little signs made me smile e.g. "Take a deep breath, this ones a long drag" or something similar at the start of another long slow climb.
One to stick in your diary, although arrive with money for the car parks, as this is Rip-Off Britain after all ! Date of review: June 29, 2008
