In short: As always - well organised - great marshalls especially in the weather ! In full: Quite a hilly course - once they start they just keep coming - weather was very wet this year - the 50th year ! Date of review: May 28, 2006
In short: Wonderful for all now that the route is so well marshalled In full: Now the route is marshalled and well marked this CHALLENGE can only grow and grow as the word gets round. Well organised and great to see that the organisers have taken on board the comments from us runners last year. See you in 2007 !
In short: Seemed more crowded - what happened to the clocks ? In full: Have more bruises and bumps than ever - it really was crowded. What happened to the clocks - why were so many so far out - we runners were depending on them to judge our pace.
In short: Good to see another well organised track ultra In full: First ultra on the new K2 track in Crawley. Events like these can only take place thanks to all the helpers - it was good to see that some runners had managed to bring lap recorders.Gloucester and Serpentine running clubs had no runners - provided a lot of race support. Also the K2 track manager + Brooks.
In short: Well organised winter marathon/challenge. In full: was a bit concerned about finding my way - lots of arrows - however couple places not really sure - went back to one checkpoint to ask the marshalls who eplained the route - would not have gone that way otherwise. had a great - long day - out on the downs.
I have renamed the South Downs as the Soouth Sludge after several parts of the grey/clay/chalky sludge !
So different to the white hard glaring downs on the Three Forts !
In short: Well organised - well marshalled 3 hilly laps - pity about missing drinks station In full: Last but one drinks station had packed up ? If time limit is 5 hours then support must be there for the 5 hours !
Big sign "Toilets Ahead" - a block opposite some shops about 5 or 6 miles - however when you got there the marshalls told you they were locked ?
Otherwise a well marshalled and well organised event. Date of review: December 5, 2005
In short: Fantastic day out in the Downs - my all time favourite - my 18th completion ! In full: Really surprised by the number of people doing this as their first marathon - what a great event to choose - though a tough one Date of review: November 12, 2005
