In short: awesome race, really friendly and a fab goody bag
In full: what more can i say..if carlsberg made races! challenging course but the downhills make up for the uphills. Fantastic marshalls and great organisation. The goody bag will never fail to make you smile and a great tech t-shirt. What more could you want.

In short: fabulous scenary, challenging but not overwhelming course
In full: Easy to follow route, superb route description and well formed trails make this off road event a great introduction to the migration from more structured road races to the thrills of the more unpredicatble off road challenge. Regular checkpoints, well stocked with cakes, tea and cheery volunteers break it down from 24 solid miles to a series of shorter runs. Beautiful views across the moors, reservoirs and valleys and some great descents to get those legs going. Save a little for the end and the jaunt along the pretty river wharfe back to the start. Everyone should do it as it is guarenteed to put a smile on your face for the whole year. Race report for 2008 is on my website, see my profile for details :)

In short: absolutely awesome racce that everyone should do
In full: this is the 2nd time I have done this race and it was fab. Stainland lions put on a fantastic event, with friendly marshalls welcoming you from the start. Yes trooper lane is steep, but the views and the downhills are fantastic. The river crossing at the end is unique and there are plenty of loud cheers even for those finishing at the back. I cannot recommend this race enough.

In short: totally fantastic race, what running is all about
In full: 3rd time taking part in this fantastic event. Each year it gets better and better. The organisation is faultess and an army of friendly cheerful marshalls line the way of the challenging but enjoyable course. A couple of testing hills, but also some great downhill bits. The goody bag is the best on the planet and the gingerbreadwoman much more tasty than a banana. A great mix of club and non-club runners means this race definitely has something for every level of runner. Despite the icey cold winds at the start i thoroughly enjoyed the day and am already looking forward to next year. EVERYONE should do this event if they get a chance. It is definitely one of my favourites.
