In short: Lots of good things, one very bad thing...
In full: Rapid distribution of chips at the start, plenty of room for running round to warm up, friendly and encouraging marshals all way round, nothing too exerting on the course, nice mixs of long steady ups and a few sharp up and downs. Medal might have at least had a date on it, though fortunately it didn't have a distance on it - because the very bad thing is that we were sent the wrong way at one point - either that, or I knocked 7 minutes off my PB!

In short: Pure joy (but then I had a good run!)
In full: Excellent organisation, lessons learnt from last year. Encouraging marshalls throughout. Aslo great camaraderie among the runners, at last those I chatted with afterwards. A challenging course at times, but if you're ready for the 2k long road climb near the end, you can handle it - I did this time! And to finish, another good technical T-shirt, and well stocked good bag (although odd the raisins were 'best before February 2012"!
With the demise of the Arkendale 10k, this is now probably my favourite 10k race.

In short: The marshals make it excellent
In full: How do the marshals in the middle of the wood know my name? Spooky! Enthusiasm from them all way round, and the encouragement at the end of the first lap/finish, it's almost like being at Gateshead. Faultless organisation, and custard in the goody bag. And the T-shirt - 10/10/10! Only natural, because this race rates 10.

In short: As ever, well organised, friendly and encouraging marshalls - one of the first runs I look for at the start of the year

In short: As good as it gets
In full: First time trying this one, and it's so good, I'm wary of recommending it in case I can't get in next year. Outstanding and encouraging marshalls, exemplary organisation; stunning goody bag, amazing spot prizes, terrific shirt. Plus I got to meet Ron Hill! I can't figure out how two mid-wood marshalls knew my name! The challenging level of the course was almost swept aside by all else. Well done, Stadium Runners

In short: Nice one
In full: Clearly the organisers have taken last year's comments and worked hard to improve things, with great success. A picturesque course, frequent and cheerful marshals, a water station at 4k, and mile markers. A smallish field of entries for the men's race (run half an hour after the women's for some reason), so we were soon spread out (as in everyone else ran on ahead of me!). I made the distance fairly short of the 10k-ish mentioned in the ads (9.58k), but that is of little importance. It was a good run well put together - well done.

In short: As excellent as ever
In full: From the downpour last year to Gas Mark 9 conditions this time, but no change in the outstanding organisation, as they even put on an extra water station at 5 miles. I would vote for the return of the glass block memento next year though!

In short: Worth driving 40 miles for
In full: Lovely day for it, great marshalls, impatient drivers, hills not too bad; shame about the lack of water at the finish for us back markers, and running out of med/small T-shirts. The good lady wife managed a PB, she likes these mildly undulating road routes. I think I quite enjoyed it too!

In short: Slipping and sliding and loving it
In full: So mnay good things about this race - the marshalls, the reorganised car parking following the rain, the mug memento (featuring the friendly sheep), the event photographers who seem to have snapped everyone, and me six times (I must be photogenic!), and the post-run cake stall. The wind and mud slowed me down, but didn't spoil one of the best runs on the calendar. The only gripe, as last year, was the twenty minute queue for the insufficient number of toilets. Somebody please look up 'ample'...

In short: They even organised great weather...
In full: Incredible goody bag, chock full of sweeties! Thunderous applause at the finish, which was very kind considering how slow I was getting back. Small gripe at running out of XL T-shirts - I'll have to run quicker next year.
