In short: Enjoyable race In full: 3rd time I've run this and each time I enjoy it. Set a PB this time so got to be good, right? T-shirts were a big improvement on previous years towel and the finish line went much smoother. Date of review: April 29, 2013

In short: great fun! In full: I turned up early and had no parking issues. However, the race has outgrown the facilities available and I saw several cars stuck in mud and others who had to park miles away. Apart from that though it was a great fun race. Exceptionally muddy after all the rain and the river crossings throughout the tunnels were more challenging than they might have otherwise been. If I'd been able to take in the scenery instead of watching my step everywhere I know I'd be raving about that but today it was just a real fun watery slog!!! Date of review: December 30, 2012

In short: Hard and hilly but a great race In full: First time I have run this race. I made it a bit more of a challenge in my tutu! the weather blessed us after all the rain and although there were some damp bits overall it was fine. The route is lovely, perhaps a little challenging for first timers, but well worth having a go. could have done with bottles at the drinks stations as I always find cups a bit difficult but overall a very enjoyable race. In short: A great race and loved the weather! In full: First time I've done this race. Everyone told me how good it was and I was lucky enough to have run the route the other way in the summer - which helped! The weather was a bit biblical but all good fun. Not sure there were many drop outs despite the early arrival of snow to add to the torrential rain! Really can't recommend the race highly enough and would especially like to thank all the marshalls who looked absolutely frozen! We enjoyed a Lock Inn breakfast afterwards as well :-) Date of review: November 5, 2012

In short: Very enjoyable challenge despite the rain! In full: Really enjoyed this one. The race numbers went soggy too quickly though and I spent a minute in a field after a route sign was sabotaged. Other than that everything was excellent. Great scenery, slippery tracks, hills, rain, mud, nettles and lovely cakes made by a lady from Didcot Runners! Will be doing this route again with some of my club mates! Date of review: September 26, 2012

In short: Loved it. What a fantastic experience! In full: This is a race you must do. I almost gave up attempting to enter through the ballot but gave it one more try and got lucky. Cannot fault the organisation. Pre race number collection took minutes and I really enjoyed the expo. On race day I attached my number to my bag and left my bag on the marked lorry with very friendly staff. I was in pen 8 so my idea of a fast time was soon dispelled. However, one I got started the pace was good enough to get on target for under 4 hours, but not much faster. The crowds were fantastic. Great idea to have name printed on vest. Plenty of water and lucozade stations. Pacers who kept to the correct pace. Perhaps a bit narrow at some points which caused a few issues. When I reached the finish the brilliant organisation continued. Medal, photo with medal and bag collected all within 5 minutes! I was waiting 45 minutes at the Bath half in 2009! Can't wait to do it again!!!! Date of review: April 28, 2012
