In short: More hills than I expected but enjoyable nonetheless
In full: A local, scenic course which was good value. It could have done with a few more mile markers and a couple of extra marshalls at road junctions (as it wasn't clear which way to go). Could also do with a couple more drink stations. That said, it wouldn't put me off doing it again and overall it was a positive experience.

In short: Fantastic location and scenery but very tough
In full: Fabulous scenery and a beautiful day.
My main comment is about the cut off time. I entered the Race and was only just counted. It shouldn't have been a problem for me as I have done a number of tough marathons previously and haven't ever taken as long. I think allowances should have been made in the searing temperatures and because it was a new race (average times would be unknown). I passed the marshalls picking up the signs so could easily have lost my way in the last few kms. Not to mention those who were timed out and were behind. How did they find their way back? I note the previous comment about finding your own way back if you dropped out. Those retiring at 20 miles were advised that it was a 5 mile walk back along the road - worrying considering how exhausted some people looked. If i entered again i would consider the Challenge instead - perhaps this could be an 'early start' rather than a separate race?

In short: The hardest marathon I have done!
In full: This was a fabulous course, with amazing scenery. It was gruellingly hard but I still really enjoyed it!

In short: Fab race in the very best of surroundings
In full: Great race, well marshalled, loads of water stations. Beautiful surroundings. Nice slate medal. Parking was a bit of a bottleneck but I certainly wouldn't let that put me off what was otherwise a fantastic race.

In short: Extreme weather but a fantastic race nonetheless!
In full: This was a great race. My third marathon and easily my favourite! What a shame to see the organisation criticised. I think the organisers and marshalls did a great job in extremely bad weather. Many thanks

In short: Challenging but fabulously scenic race
In full: This is a great race with fantastic scenery. The course was well marshalled with lots of drink stations. And the t-shirts are fab. The only major let down was the prize giving which still hadn't taken place at 5.30pm when there was hardly anyone left!!!

In short: Evaluated by my wife who ran the race today. It could have been marshalled better, as there were one or two places where runners went wrong.
