In short: A great day out by the seaside.
In full: Third time I've done this race. Great support from spectators and marshalls round the course. But please please can they put some marshalls round the exit of the finish area? It took me ages to get out after collecting my goody bag - not funny when you're cold, worn out and want to get warm and get some food. Why can't people wait at the alphabetical meeting points just over from the actual finish area where there's loads of room? But, will be back. Already booked for next year.

In short: Great race, great value, great weather!
In full: First time I'd done this race. Very friendly atmosphere and well-marshalled. Start/finish could be more clearly marked. Ditto what everyone else has said about the cyclists - organisers of both should check next year to make sure they don't clash again. Will definitely be back.

In short: A great friendly race in a superb setting.
In full: Great value for money. Friendly atmosphere and a good race to take the family to as playing field and rec right next to the start. Superb scenery and a lot of the route shaded. Not completely flat and the sharp bend and climb near the end caught me out. Would definitely do again.

In short: A good race but just too hot - would be better with an earlier start.
In full: Well organised overall - agree with the comments about some of the water stations and very hard to drink out of plastic cups even at walking pace. Sponges very welcome in that heat though - great idea. Queue out of car park a pain but only what you'd expect at a big race. Great marshalls, very encouraging. Hope that all the runners I saw being attended to by the St John Ambulance have recovered.

In short: 2nd time I've done this race - fantastic! Will definitely do again.
In full: Would recommend to anyone thinking of doing their first half-marathon. Fantastic support all the way round, plenty of water/Lucozade stations, friendly encouraging marshalls, toilets and parking you can pre-book. Will be back next year. Plenty of pre-race info by e-mail.

In short: Fantastic race made better by supportive local people and marshalls.
In full: Haven't done the GSR since 2005 (it was sunny that year!) but definitely worth getting up early and travelling for. Everyone really friendly and excellent organisation. Bit of congestion in some places on the course but to be expected with such a popular race. Have already put next year's in the diary. Thank you Great Run!

In short: Brilliant, very friendly race, would highly recommend to others.
In full: First time I had done this race and really enjoyed it. Just a bit of congestion through the first mile. Good family day out, races for kids to do and plenty of parking. Really friendly encouraging marshalls and water stations well organised - agree with earlier comments about plastic cups though. Would definitely do again.

In short: Friendly, well organised but very windy and never in the right direction!
In full: Well organised race, friendly people but the wind took some of the fun out of it. And it was definitely over 10K - my garmin clocked it as 6.69 miles. The bananas were fab - very hot to be in a banana suit!

In short: Very friendly race.
In full: My first half marathon for 2 years and definitely the right one to pick. Organisation great, apart from the lack of medals for the later finishers. Loads of much-needed support from local people and marshalls all the way round. Will definitely do this one again.
