In short: If you are running your 1st marathon do Chester, if you are running your 1st half do Chester
In full: I am not surprised in any way at all by how fantastic the half was today. Superbly organised, effortlessly smooth, and even the people asking the runners to make room at the end of the race did it extremely politely and very effectively. Top class, this is exactly how a race should be run.

In short: Great race, incredible marshals
In full: As ever, brilliantly organised race, especially this year in the freezing conditions. Marshals were outstanding. Thank you guys, used this as training run to London marathon, nice to finish a half not dead on my feet. Odd choice of t shirt but overall, top race as ever. Be interesting to see how many runners cried off

In short: Outstanding
In full: What a fantastic race. From the seconds it took them to find and hand over the numbers, the chip timings, the numerous stewards, the free sarnies and tech t-shirt to the instant 1st aid when my friend cramped up on the finish line. Great race, thank you

In short: Best Race of The Year
In full: Love, love, love this race. 3rd time of doing it todat and it never fails to impress. From the torch bearing firing a rocket to start the race, to Benny Hill accompanying us as we ran round the track, to the incredibly enthusiastic marshalls, to the hills, wonderful tech t shirt and the, again, bizarre goody bag (Who else would include a sticker with Stockport 10, Rubbish but Brilliant)

Put simply, Stockport Harriers are a fantastic club and put on the best, friendliest and most fun race on the year. 11/10, see you next year

In short: 3rd year running and still a great race
In full: Superb race, very tough up the Great Orme 190m in 3 miles ! Great downhill after that and a tricky 2 mile segment on the sand, topped off with an evil run up a bridge at the end.

There was no problems with queing for me, but I noted slower runners were waiting upwards of 20 mins for t shirt and medal. This may be solved by a) sending out the race numbers beforehand and b) using the people that hand out the numbers to give out the tshirts and medals before the race to people who may want them then and simply marking the numbers of people who have picked them up. They can then go into the baggage tent. You don't want to be in the same position as people were at the Manchester Marathon.

Other than that, great race, will be back next year

In short: Achingly beautiful, achingly tough
In full: What a wonderful race, along with Rivington, the toughest half I've ever done, 348 metres of climbing and the hills kept coming. Weather was perfect. I'd imagine on a wet day, may be different.

Just like to thank the organisers for being so generous, for £14, you get an outstanding race, tea and coffee laid on after then, a free buffet in the local pub after the race. Oh plus its chip timed. How do you improve it ? I have no idea. Outstanding

In short: Top Class.
In full: Wow, wow, wow, what a day, what a race, what fantastic organisation and crowd support. Loved it, my 1st marathon and I am definitely a convert. Was going for a sub 4, and managed a 3.47. Last 3 miles were very tough and had 3 10 min miles overall, which made it strange that the last mile was sub 9 ! Who cares, loved it so much, will definitely do another. Well done Chester, you should be proud of yourself.

The texts sent out within minutes was wonderful as was the names on the vests. Hearing people shout your name when you're knackered really helped.

In short: Superb race, hardest and most fun 10k of the year
In full: Thank you very much indeed to Stockport Harriers, Anthony Ward and his merry band of marshals tonight for putting on another superb race. Incredibly generous, amazing support all the way around and I won a water belt as a spot prize. If Carlsberg made running clubs.....

In short: Fun in the Sun
In full: Think a lot of people have been overly critical about this race. Everyone know that when you run towards the drinks table you don't go to the 1st table but further up, of course there's going to be chaos but stay calm and there's always more space towards the end.

Water bottles are a recipe for disaster as people take a swig and throw them on the floor which are a hazard for runners coming behind. If you want more, carry one in a belt or a hand held gizmo. Organisers can't win with this as people always moan whatever you do

Thought it was a great race, enjoyed it more than Leeds 2 weeks before and loved the stadium finish.

Did think that more toilets should have been signposted, and there is no reason these days to have a cotton t-shirt at the end. Also there's a lot of halves that have the chip timer on your bib which is disposable and saves the hassle of having to have it taken off. (Wilmslow/Conwy)

Other than that, great race and loved the camel
racing past me even though I did 1.44.

See you next year

In short: Top race for a top lady
In full: Enjoyed the race, well organised, and great support with very vocal marshalls. Only one or two gripes. 1st, why do the organisers use the chips that tie onto laces ? Last thing you want to do at the end of a tough half is bend down and take it off. Plenty of other halves have them attached to the race number (see Conwy, Rivington, Wilmslow) Bit chaotic at end, but bag retrieval spot on, water and energy drinks all over the course. Great t-shirt. Will be back, but please consider timers on bib ?

Text service outstanding, results in less time it took me to get my bag.
