In short: Managed a PB but overall a bit of an expensive day out In full: Managed a personal best but it seems i was lucky. I can forgive the delay at the start but the narrowness of the route parts was bizarre. As for the barracks gate - even when i managed to get through before the crowd and waiting arrived people were commenting that it was a recipe for disaster - blooming obvioius it was wrong when people were moving.
Felt the music was mixed depending upon the enthusiasm of the DJ - music and bands at pubs on the London Marathon route provide more "beats".
Bit pricey and there are other options - peterboro, stevenage gnr in the autumn, reading in march and southend in june are all half marathons that show nike and the organisers how its done properly.
I think i was very lucky to get a pb mainly because 12 miles of the course are flat. Date of review: September 11, 2013
In short: Dull but flat and efficiently organised In full: Felt like a big event with plenty of organisation. The race itself was ok in that it was flat and had plenty of room (as you would expect from a F1 racing circuit). Not much to look at in some respects but there was something unique about running around such a famous venue.
Did not feel elitist and I would recommend for 1st time half marathoners or those preparing for the big one in London Date of review: March 19, 2009
