In short: plenty of ice, mud, water, snow, and hills yes hills.
In full: a fantastically challenging coarse, all the right ingredients ice, mud, water, snow, and hills which made for a very challenging end to the race, unless it was just my lack of recent hill training and a hip injury.
the support and the organization was great although the parking was poorly thought out. still an enjoyable day.

In short: point to pointless.
In full: sorry to to sound harsh guys, but this really wasn't for me, the pathways were far to narrow to pick up any reasonable momentum, actually started feeling sorry for the locals by half way , especially the grey haired old lady, out for a stroll in her best bib and tucker, clinging on to the sidings for dear life, and the poor lass who badly sprained her ankle, and had to wait for an age to get some medical attention. this along with the fisherman, dog walkers, cyclist's, trail walkers, leisure runners running the other way, oh plus the barge people, made this more of a sunday morning group training run that a race. lovely weather was a bonus,

In short: exceptional marshalling
In full: i have have to comment on the marshalling as most people have, but it was supurb from start to finish, wonderful weather condition, nice medal and yellow t-shirt for winter training,on the downside my sat-nav took me to a housing estate. and i wasn't the only one. a20 was very narrow. and got stuck behind a tractor on the downs. but all in all a good day out.
