In short: Where's the banana? In full: Nice race, well organised, pleasant route, even the weather was good, good preparation for Berkhamsted.
But really - at the end you need a quick bit of nutrition - either a banana or a chewy/cereal bar. Medal is pointless, T-shirt is OK but I have a lot of them, what I need is 25p worth of food! That can't be so hard to arrange can it? I'm sure there was something in 2011. Date of review: February 5, 2013

In short: Some serious steepness In full: This is actually for 2012 but the option isn't there.
Anyway it was great - lovely day, lovely countryside, everybody cheerful, legs like lead on the last hill. Going to keep running up that next year, or die trying.
More signs around the village pointing to the car park would help those of us old fogeys without a satnav. It's a hard place to find. Date of review: November 20, 2012

In short: Very, very, very, very wet In full: as the man on the PA said, and he was not wrong. To think I complained about having to run through one or two ankle deep puddles a couple of years ago. But I'm going keep doing this one at least until we get good weather for it. Date of review: November 4, 2012

In short: Tough In full: I'd been warned about the killer hill ... but knocked out by a whole series of steeps ups and downs after that. And after that ploughed field. Phew. Nice-ish scenery, though at this time of year you're *after* the harvest so rather a lot of stubble, lightly fragranced with sprayed muck ... A map on the web (e.g. a WalkJogRun route) would have been nice. There is one but it's last year's 10m version. Date of review: September 24, 2012

In short: I have known it wetter - but not much In full: We're missing a rating for "your performance" - I think I'd have to give myself a 1 or 2, sadly.
I see someone mentioned getting the chips off - at other races they have a line of volunteers sitting down with upturned buckets in front of them to do the job. I found it a bit of a struggle and my friend was paralysed with cramp when he bent down, so a bit more organised help there would be nice. Date of review: March 8, 2012

In short: All a bit average In full: The extra time getting to and from the parking marks it down even if you don't get lost. I agree with the comment about the short section on a fast and busy road - it's just not safe. The countryside is nice enough but hardly spectacular (but I'm spoilt where I live). It's probably my fault but I didn't even find the cagoule handout. And they gave my baggage to someone else (who dropped it outside and I spotted it by chance). So a bit average really. In short: You know why there's so much traffic ... In full: I live in Berko and run on these routes all the time. On your average Sunday I see half a dozen cars once off the A4251. So why so busy last weekend - yes that's right, it's all those lovely supporters driving round to get an extra glimpse of mummy or daddy on their special day. And then crawling past the other runners to get home once the magic moment is past. Maybe those runners could promise to just order a photograph next time and save the rest of us from the carbon monoxide. Because it risks spoiling a great race. Date of review: March 8, 2011

In short: Lovely with a bit of sunshine In full: And I shaved 1 min 40 off my target time and ran my best time in 10 years so very happy.
As usual I carried my own drink - maybe for the price they could improve on the floppy little cup with freezing water? Leave out the useless little shiny trinket on a ribbon instead? I'm not sure they would even have to pay for energy drinks if they can find a manufacturer who wants to promote their product. Date of review: March 7, 2010
