In short: Well organised trail run. In full: Did the half marathon option. Clumber park is a great venue. Most of the race is off road on very scenic trails through the forest. Harder than a road half marathon, but nothing too challenging. Organisation was great, thank you to all the marshals involved.. Can only think of one slight gripe, like the previous reviewer, would have liked a different t-shirt for the half. That said, medal and goody bag were great. Would recommend this race to anybody new to trail running. Date of review: June 29, 2014
In short: Run a lot of half marathons and this is probably the best organised. Great! In full: Hard to know where to fault this race. Well organised and friendly marshals. Finish in Glanford park great. Very flat and fast. Date of review: May 4, 2014
In short: Friendly smaller race In full: Lots of hills, sharp turns and change of surfaces meant that I could never drop into a good rhythm . You won't get a PB here, but nether the less really enjoyed the race and felt like I had a good workout, prior to a spring marathon. Was very friendly and seemed well organised apart from lack of toilet facilities at the start. Would love to run it again next year. Date of review: March 23, 2014
In short: My third year doing this race.tough- yes. Muddy-yes,but great fun In full: Worth doing for the food at the end alone. We'll organised and very friendly. Not easy, but have to say that it is one of my favourite races.big thank you to all the Marshall's who gave up their time. Date of review: February 9, 2014
In short: Great way to blow the cobwebs away after the party season In full: Bigger this year, leading to the problem of too few loos and huge queues. Otherwise well organised with friendly helpful marshals .
In short: Definite PB potential.Well organised In full: Thought the organisation was good.Only minor quibble was that there were no marshals stopping people getting into the wrong starting pens.I started in the red pen but there were a few obviously slower runners in there who got in the way to start with. Can't be pleasant for them either to have faster runners trying to get past. This could be easily sorted next year.Other than that, very enjoyable run and will be back next year.Big thank you to all volunteers who gave up their Sunday to make this work. In short: Great atmosphere, thought organisation great for such a large race In full: 1st time I've managed to get into the GNR and really enjoyed the expierience.Hopefully will be back next year. Date of review: September 16, 2013
In short: Really enjoyable and scenic 10k,well organised In full: Had issues with the Leeds and Hull 10ks and almost didn't do this one. Glad I did. No corporate walkers in the way.Pens were very good and organisers made a big point of asking fun runners and walkers to start further back. Organisation seem to be like clockwork, could' t fault it. Why couldn't the other 10 ks been like this? Thank you to organisers and volunteers. Date of review: August 4, 2013
